There are many choices for pizza in the Twin Cities metro. Many are trĆØs chic, poised in neighborhood's known for ridiculous rent. Some even, health conscious. Imagine that, healthy pizza. Wanting "healthy pizza" may be the product of a myopic dystopian society yet thankfully nostalgia has a cure. Godfathers's pizza in Brooklyn Park is worth a ride in a trans-temporal Delorean yet doesn't require one. This blast from the past is so good, it reminds you of things generation-x and their boomer parents got right. The cheese is real people. So real, it's salt content is hypertension-tastic. The sausage tastes like Italian sausage, not bland AI generated tofu. The jumbo size pie has crust that is crunchy, moist, yet easy to chew. Most chains serve something like prewarmed dough. Not here. The ambience is aged but it has aged well like that one girl from your 20 yr class reunion all the guys are now, super nice to. Pricing is very reasonable. When you pay for the buffett, the staff takes requests for pies. When you've overdone it at the buffett they don't have a golf cart to get you back to your vehicle but they should. The bathroom's are small but they were from a time before mobile phones ruined public bathrooms. It's a bathroom not a multimedia library. The soda machine is ancient so it works. The salad bar is exactly what Midwestern folks think a salad is and yes, has chocolate pudding. God bless America and Italy for that matter. Staff isn't rude and pools tips from counter but doesn't make you feel like a complete pariah for not tipping 800%. Classic and a great value. Hope you last...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI grew up with the great Golden Valley location in the late 80's to i believe 2014 when they closed and a smug trendy craft beer and sausage establishment took its spot. I was very upset when this happened but remembered that about 10 miles away there was this BP location. Ive been very pleased to call this my new Godfathers for the past 4 years and have been very happy that it still exists. The pizza buffet is the best you can get and always fully stocked with a wide array of options and is very well priced at around 8$. Im pretty sure mediocre pizza ranch charges a ridiculous 14$ and their pizza doesn't compare. The atmosphere of Godfathers BP feels like a legitimate pizza parlor and gives me warm feelings. The staff is very nice and helpful though the busser who is a regular employee always there is a bit aggressive while he collects plates and sometimes spills leftover food or sends it flying onto surroundings while he busses the table. He's nice but he needs to be little less violent in his bussing. Other than that i truly hoe this location stays around for awhile and recommend the dessert pizza which is the best thing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas super excited to try this as I have not had Godfatherās for years! Ordered a taco pizza (not supreme) veggies on the side, 1/2 meat with onion, & the other just plain. Opened the box while driving at 4:30pm as my husband I hadnāt eaten all day & were shocked! No veggies at all & NO taco chips! Called to tell them & they agreed to make another so it would be hot. Decided to stop at the gas station next door for Doritos as WHY no chips for taco pizza was odd! Got the right order this time with cheese sticks, got home, & oh my word it was like chewing rubber! I worked for Godfathers in my early 20ās, FIRST pizza I ever heard of to put ranch on (I was born in NYC) & it was awesome! This tasted nothing like the old days nor even one we tried a few years ago in IA! I donāt know if it was just the workers on today or itās always chewy like ours was, keep the other pizza free or not; wonāt order takeout again. MAY try the buffet one day to see if we just had a bad one time experience, yet if there was no buffet to try again, I would NOT waste my $ here again thatās for certain! Rather eat Dominoās for less $ &...
