Overall, it isn't a bad place. The food is good, but it was better when they were a food truck. The handful of times that I ordered food from them was when they had their food truck around... food came out fresh and hot!!! Always! The presentation of my orders was always neat, and portions were very generous... then the shop opened up, and I assume business did too... the first time I ordered after they opened up their restaurant... the food was delicious and, as expected, flavorful, good portions, and my order was packed neatly. The second time, though... was very disappointing... I placed an order for pickup on my way home from work... it was towards closing... probably two hours prior to closing... when I got there.... they were just finishing up with packaging my take out order, which I was ok with because they were busy. . . When I got home and opened up my order... 6 chicken tacos with sauce on the side, a side order of mexican rice, and a buritto bowl. The tacos were messy and missing the sauce I requested on the side... there weren't any limes or radishes, just the corn tortillas with the chicken filling all over the to go tray... the rice was nicely flavored but very small portion for $5... nothing special... burrito bowl was colorful, good portion but again missing the sauce on the side and they forgot to include the shredded cheese like they usually do in the burrito bowl. Irritated and disappointed - tired, hungry, and already home... I just decided to let it go and not make a big deal out of it by calling or going back there... added the rice to the burritos and shared it with my husband, but just a few bites into the tacos... I noticed a wavy piece of hair in my food. Mind you, I don't have wavy dark brown hair. I immediately lost my appetite and just spit out all the food from my mouth. I was so disgusted... my husband and I just threw away EVERYTHING, including the untouched burrito bowl. Unfortunately, I haven't gone back to order from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI canāt leave a star for atmosphere as I had someone pick it up for my husband and I. We ordered 3 quesadillas de pastor, 1 with cilantro/tomato, 1 with those and onion (my friend picked up another she chose), & ours were GOOD, just not sure they were pastor. Looked and tasted like steak & I canāt handle steak well. They do have a very nice gentleman answer the phone, got the order correct, unless their pastor is not an orange color Iām used to. I have been to so many taco stands/restaurants in 20 years of being around Hispanic family & this is GOOD, would just want to go in person to be sure Iām getting pastor meat. I would like to see them have avocados, or guacamole as they are awesome with quesadillas! Also, the quesadillas are very large. If you donāt like/canāt have lettuce, be sure to let them know. The salsa verde was also really good & you get a neat...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGem! On a business trip from Chicago and because a nearby Vietnamese place wouldnāt serve me a sandwich, I stumbled upon this place. Went there twice for takeout in 4 days!
First day, 3 different types of tacos (langua, steak, pork). Friggen awesome! Full of flavor. Tender meat. No grizzle. Served the only way it should - onions and cilantro. Oh wait, you get a lime and hot sauces when I never asked AND add a nice touch with the tasty candy? Come on!
Second day. Steak burrito. My go to. Absolutely awesome and Iām Chicago-spoiled with ethnic foods (thus my weight struggle)! Rice. Beans. Red onion. Lettuce. Etc. They cut it in half for you. Why? Because they care and they want you to see that they care and itās great.
