Unbelievable experience! They were short-staffed because someone quit. So the manager tells us in the drive-thru, "If you have a family-sized order, please come inside because we're understaffed today." So we leave the drive-thru, and park. I walk to the lobby door, and it's locked! I pull for a few minutes, thinking someone would come and assist, and everyone just watched. Finally another customer opens the door to let me in. And the manage scolds him for letting me in saying the lobby is locked on purpose because they were understaffed. Everyone there had such a bad attitude because someone unexpectedly quit that day. So it's like they were trying to get rid of business because they didn't want to deal with it.
So the problem of the lobby being locked and people coming and pulling on a locked door happened at least 4 more times while I was there. So naturally, if you see someone struggling with the door, you go and help them. The last person to do this was like a 7-8 year old boy. The manager scolded him, told him it was common sense not to open the door, and then said because he opened the door, "I'm going to have to ask you to leave. Go tell your parents (who were sitting at a nearby table) and all of you get out of here." All of the other customers are looking in disbelief. So then I asked him why doesn't he just put a sign on the door so people know what's going on and he doesn't feel he needs to.
As if the experience isn't bad enough, another employee walks in who's off duty, begins talking loudly in front of all of the customers about some personal issue that caused the other employee to quit. And then because they're short-staffed, he walks behind the counter, out of uniform and pants hanging down, and begins fixing orders. That's without washing his hands and with having to keep pulling up his sagging pants with underwear showing. By the way, I'm not being racially biased in my critique because I am African-American. It was horrible and I'd be willing to bet that staff is losing you...
Read moreLast night's experience was terrible. The "manager" was horrific, but the original gentleman who took our order was friendly as can be. I never once raised my voice or used any foul language towards him but let's just say it took a lot to contain my composure in a car, where I had my entire family, including my mother who is visiting from out of town! My family and I are originally from New Orleans and crave food from home all the time, but I will never ever ever EVER come back to this location. I'd rather go home and make a sandwich than to ever deal with that guy again. Did you ever think it was possible for someone to "hang up" on you during a drive-thru conversation? That's what this shift manager did. All because I questioned the amount of food given, being that the traditional large side containers weren't being used. He literally says "I can show you the box- it says 16 oz so it's 16 oz." My response was in a normal but confused tone, "but these drinking cups that you claim to be 16 oz aren't filled to the top, so I'm still not getting what I paid for, so how is this fair?" He insists that the drinking cups were equal to the original cups. If it is- fine. But I am a paying customer who was simply asking questions and don't deserve to be treated or talked to in that kind of way. Like many folks, maybe the guy should reevaluate what he really wants to do with his career because working at Popeye's clearly ain't it. My family has been in the food industry since before my time and I've been in the customer service profession outside of my family's business for over 14 years. I know what it's like to deal with angry customers therefore I've made it a point to never raise my voice or point blame at anyone, but c'mon guy! All that and for us to get home, then notice that our food wasn't even "fresh." Again, my family's been in the food industry for centuries. I can tell when fried chicken isn't fresh. What a complete...
Read moreHere's what happened when my kids and I went to this place to order some chickens tonight. We went to their drive through and ordered 12 pc chickens and a drink. When I pulled up to the window, before I handed the girl my card, I asked how much I owned her? The girl replied " $16.44". I looked at the girl and quickly confirmed that it was for the 12 pc, the girl replied back "Yes". I looked at the girl with confusion and said that's cheap! I handed the girl my card, charged it, then handed me my card and the chickens. We drove off, got home and opened the box of chicken, and found four pieces of chicken in the box. Wrong order! Called them back, the phone continuously ringing w/o answer. I drove back to let them know I got the wrong order. The manager came to the window and told me I ordered 4 pc, not 12. I said no, I ordered 12 and I even confirmed with the girl before we drove off. The manager kept telling me you only ordered 4 pc. Handed him my receipt. The manager did not even apologize. He failed to handle this small situation. He was rude and told me to pay the difference. Gave him a $20 bill. I'm not trying to get free food. I just want them to apologize and give me what I ordered. Drove off mad and will never go back to this...
