First, I would like to say the servers and bartenders are exceptionally nice folks and make you feel welcomed BUT it stops there because of an awful owner who sometimes works as the bartender. After a very pleasant visit I paid my bill with my typical 50% tip but as I walked out the owner asked my bartender if I had paid!! I will tell you I have been to many restaurants in this country and outside of this country for over 50+ years and I have NEVER been questioned as to whether I have paid. I was told by one customer that he often questions whether customers have paid or not. The good news it doesn’t appear his actions are related to race or gender issues. If you like having your integrity then this is the place for you. I actually gave him a chance to apologize on my third visit. The only reason I came back was because of the staff; not him. He had the audacity to explain he’s “running a business” it gives him the right to question his whether his customers have paid if he doesn’t see the bill paid! Seriously, is he micromanaging his employees to see if they aren’t taking money or is he just an insecure person. He only apologized at the very end of his horrible explanation. I always like to give new businesses an opportunity to earn my business but this guy doesn’t deserve another chance. It’s too bad but I can’t give a person like this my money. To be honest, the food is average but priced too high. His arrogance is too much and he will never see me set foot in there again. If you want great service, great food and a respectful owner I suggest you visit Dos Hermanos on HWY 252/85th avenue in Brooklyn Park. Get treated with respect, eat...
Read moreI tried Reyes out shortly after they opened and I was pleasantly astounded! First of all, the menu offers a far broader scope of dishes than I have seen in any Mexican restaurant I've been to in the Cities. Sure, Reyes does offer the expected tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc., but then there are also Italian and Central/South American dishes, too, and some dishes I'm not sure fit in any of those categories.
As of this evening, I have been there 6 times (once for breakfast) and I've tried a different entrée each time. Everything has been flavorful and delicious. All peppers and vegetables are fresh, sauces are not too heavy; I've had a subtly cheesy white sauce and a dark savory sauce - just right for each dish.
I've brought my neighbors on one visit and a friend another time, and they all enjoyed it immensely. This place is a gem, and I recommend it highly.
The only thing I would recommend to the restaurateur: keep the music volume down until after 8 or 9 p.m. Earlier diners would perhaps like to talk to each other without having to shout! I only experienced this noisy music on this most recent visit; usually, the music volume has been at a...
Read moreI and my children went for breakfast this time! It did not disappoint!
Service was efficient and and greeted with enthusiasm and a happy vybe! This is such a treat when you find a restaurant to be positive and inviting from the moment you step in.
Turn around time from ordering to eating was fantastic. The servers checked on us multiple times.
Now the food! Wow.
I had the Mexicana. Fantastic!! Scrambeled eggs with ham, peppers, jalapenos, beans and rice. Everything cooked to perfection.
My daughter had Sopes with Carnitas. Perfectly marinated carnitas, beans, a soft egg on top...laud...good! She is young and brought some home and finished it off later. Delicious.
My teenager ate the Bacon Burger with an egg n hashbrowns. He couldn't even finish it! The burger was huge, juicy, and the freshest of bread. The hashbrowns also well seasoned.
Pancakes were so shocking! They were a bit sweet and so delicious. I would go back just for those alone!!! Yummy!
Hot Chocolate was had too and came with whip cream.
Overall GET HERE!!! YOU WILL NOT BE...
