El Bronco Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Brookville

This is a place that I will NEVER recommend to anyone. Do NOT stop here. They have zero care or respect for their customers. They don't abide by their own writing on their: menu, Google overview, restaurant lunch hours. They are deceptively changing and charging prices on their menus as you are ordering lunch items and charging you for dinner prices (within their lunch hours and fully aware of their lunch hours). Our party came in with a handicapped individual during their lunch hours, as we sat down at the table we told them we just drove 5 hours on the road and were excited to arrive on time and try out this new place. In turn, we viewed their menu already and would only need a minute to finalize our order for the lunch menu (their lunch time extends to 3PM). The waiter tells us to "take our time, we still have time before lunch ends" and we said we would only need a minute. We finish deciding and we are sitting there eating chips & salsa waiting for the waiter to come back and also flagging him down so we don't exceed the time crunch. He comes back at 2:55 and starts to take our order. We start ordering our meals and he says, we can't do the lunch portion. Then he goes to my husband, we can't do the lunch portion and my husband responds, which lunch portions CAN you do, I just named 4 entrees. The waiter responds "none", that he isn't doing the lunch menu, he will charge us the dinner prices. He looks at his watch nearly 5 times and we reiterate that we have been sitting here for over 10 minutes waiting for him and it still isn't 3pm and he TOLD us to take our time to order, but were ready with our orders in less than a minute. HE COULD NOT HAVE CARED LESS!!!!!!!! Lucky for us we have a plethora of Mexican restaurants to pick from and it's only sad for them that they turned down first time customers (who made them very aware that we will be writing reviews) and we will take our business elsewhere. So we did!!!! Would you like a fantastic recommendation? Go to Lulu's tacos! This is the same exit that has Uranus store with delicious fudge. I've attached the food items below of Lulu's Taco food. They have authentic food, super accommodating and respectful, kind staff and their dinner options are cheaper than El Bronco lunch items. The portion sizes are large! It's about a 20 minute drive and they care about every single customer walking in with a beautiful greeting. I typically write reviews to applaud restaurants and my experiences from around the world, but the lack of respect and care today, put a foul taste in our mouths and felt the need to share how they treat their customers. They do not care about your time, hard earned money, or traveling such a distance to be tricked into increased pricing. If you don't want to serve 20 minutes before 3pm, change your hours. I'm giving them some grace because they haven't been open very long. Restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait. It's not a big place. They have a bar in the back which they probably should have utilized for more seating. There wasn't anyone sitting at the bar. We got our menus and then had to wait about 10 mins to order our drinks..another 10 mins to order food. Didn't have to wait on our food though. These Mexican restaurants are always amazingly fast at preparing the food. I'm guessing it's all pre-made and then heated? Or they have ninja cooks. One or the other. Taquitas we're ok. Rice was a little dry but the burritos were a little soggy. I was expecting ground beef when I ordered the beef taquitos but it was more like a roast kinda beef. Large chunks. If I could give zero stars, I would. Do not advertise until 3 for your lunch special when we just stopped after a long drive if you are not going to honor ordering at 253pm. We walked out at 258 pm still before 3 pm. Last time I checked I knew how to read time 253 and 258 were before 3. The walk by and wait until after 3 approach so we are forced to pay for dinner portions is dishonest, sneaky and I won't stand for it. The waiter was incredibly rude and ridiculously unaccommodating.
