Blake's is a cool place to stop in for some good food and quality drinks! It feels like a nice comfy neighborhood spot. Local brewery decor and a huge selection of beers! The covered patio is a nice addition, with a large, spacious sitting area you don't feel too crowded! The waitresses were so helpful. They were very quick with service, helped answer any question we had and were able to suggest drinks/beers to fit our tastes. Started with the Denver Beer Co's Graham Cracker Porter which was a delightful suggestion! Also had the Lefthand Brewing Milk Stout Nitro. Also a very good choice!! I started the meal with a side salad and the wings. Salad was alright. Basic and sort of small but tasted fresh and the homemade Ranch was very good. The wings came out dry with the sauces on the side, which was nice. It gave us the opportunity to try a few. The were hot, crispy and very juicy. The sauces were pretty basic, a hot wing sauce and a BBQ sauce. Both were good! I also had the Ultimate Burger. This was the choice made by the waitress and it didn't disappoint! It comes with a big dollop of goat cheese, sautéed onions, crispy bacon, a fig jam, a little greenery and a garlic aioli. It was FANTASTIC. A perfect blend of sweet and savory. The goat cheese and jam is a classic combination that really plays well with the onions and bacon! The bun was nicely toasted and soft. I ordered the cook of the burger to be medium, it was definitely over cooked, but still had good flavor. Overall it was a great lunch! I would definitely recommend and would love to come back and try some of the other...

I went in Blake's Taphouse yesterday and they had a "Wait to be Seated" sign. As I entered, I said hi to the hostess and said I going to sit at the bar, there was maybe 4-5 people there, she said no problem and I proceeded to sit at the bar to do some work on my laptop. Saw some friends, chatted and worked and left. I went back this evening, saw the same hostess, said hi, she responded and proceeded to the bar to again work on some stuff and have a beer. As I make my way to the bar a middle-aged male came up to me and said can I help you. I said, no I was just going to the bar... he said that the sign said, "Wait to be Seated", and that I should obey the sign and the waitstaff! First, all establishments that I've encountered use the "Wait to be Seated" for tables, not the bar top. Second, the place was maybe a third full and two people were at the bar which had a dozen, plus seats; and the host passed me on the previous evening, so not thinking that I had to be treated that I was in the DMV line for my license renewal. He may have been the owner or manager, and I said I would not do that again and left Blake's Taphouse and will not go back again. Never experienced such poor management, especially in a relatively new establishment (less than 2 years old)... especially during such challenging times in the restaurant industry. Lastly, the beers are...

Good beer selection and reasonable portions at moderate to high prices. The menu is primarily burgers and they are in the $15-$18 range. We tried the flatbread pizza special was $16. Unfortunately service needs a lot of work.

We visited on a Saturday evening on the late side of dinner rush (7:30ish). No wait to be seated and a couple open tables. We were promptly greeted by the server and ordered drinks and the pretzel bites. That was the last of prompt. Someone else brought the drinks and app, but the pretzel bites had been sitting somewhere for awhile; barely warm and there was a skin on the quite tasty cheeze sauce. Once we were done with those and glasses empty, our server was MIA for quite some time. We finally found her chatting with the bartender. Once I locked eyes with her and stood up she came over. This was the pattern for the rest of the evening and even had to track her down to get the tab, I again found her leaning at the bar.

The manager (owner?) did come by our table as we were heading out, so kudos to him for observing our frustration, albeit too late. Maybe just an off night for the server as the restaurant appeared to be very well staffed as the dining room was only about 50% full by the time we wrapped up.

Conclusion: We will try them again if we happen to be in the area, but wouldn't go...

I rarely give 5 stars but this was a pleasant surprise. Honestly, I hesitated to go because I am not a beer drinker and the food selection seemed pretty small. I also noted some average or "so so" reviews about miscellaneous issues. But, the husband is a beer lover and we decided to try it for lunch. First, let me say that if you didn't have the best experience, I would consider going back a second time. It is absolutely possible that they were working out the kinks. The owner, Rob, and wait staff were all very attentive. Rob talked to us about changing beer choices and food items, kids options, etc. based on feedback. He sounded like he really took reviews and feedback to heart and is working to improve all around. The husband was very happy with the beer selections and while I am not a beer or cider fan.., I loved the chokecherry cider! We ordered the pastrami sandwich for the hubby and the bison burger for me. Mine was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed it. The Mr. said that the pastrami wasn't dry, had great flavor and he appreciated that when it was served, it was served standing up so the rye didn't get soggy. Thank you Rob, you and the crew were wonderful and we will be back!
