I’ve tried Deuces 3x now. And I will say that the food is very good. It is The best Texas style bbq in the area. Probably the best within 100 miles
Brisket - 8.5/10 bark has a great flavor, nice smoke , I’d like the bark to be a little harder but it’s very good.
Ribs 4/10 flavor was good but there wasn’t really any meat
Sides 4.5/10 the sides were a little bland and limited
Sauces 9.5/10 delicious and pair perfect with their smoked meats
Other 4/10 (service, menu, etc )everyone has always been nice its just the small things that stop me from going back as much as I would like such as certain meats are only available on certain days. When it comes to bbq, I need some consistency. I realize they work out of a small space. But, so do many bbq spots all over Austin and Dallas. on my brisket plate I requested “lean” and received 1/2 lean, 1/2 fatty. This is the 3rd time I requested it this way and they didn’t do it nor have they told me I can’t order it that way. they had brisket and sandwiches available today. I requested a brisket sandwich chopped. I was told they don’t have chopped brisket today. This makes no sense to me. I mean they have brisket and knives, sooooo?
I will definitely go back, but it’s these small things that stop me from going more often. I think these...
Read moreAfter my last visit to Austin and having some of the best bbq, I was determined to find some back home that was close to it. Last Sunday my husband and I tried to give this other spot who had so many rave reviews a try but it was not worth the hype that it received. Same day I decided to look up another bbq place and that’s when I stumbled upon Deuces, i immediately made a mental note to give them a shot for the following Sunday. Today was the Sunday and I pulled up their Facebook page and can immediately see the difference in the brisket compared to the other place we went to last Sunday. My husband and I took the 16 mins drive out and upon arrival we can immediately smell the bbq. My husband immediately said oh yea it’s going to be good. We got the trio (brisket, pulled pork, & ribs), it did not disappoint. When I picked up the brisket it immediately broke apart, whereas the bbq we had last Sunday from the other spot did not. You can easily taste the smoke of the brisket along with the rib. The pulled pork was some of the best I have had in our area, super juicy, my husband agreed. Give this place a try, awesome service and awesome food! It’s literally the closest thing we have had to Texas bbq. We will...
Read moreI really had high hopes from the reviews but I’m confused as to why. My coworker and I called in a to go and went picked it up. When we arrived at the designated time the food wasn’t ready. They were very polite though. When we got back to the office I was very disappointed at the food I received for $19. A small portion of brisket which looked like leftover chop (wasn’t even asked or given the option if I want it sliced lean or fatty like most bbq places I’ve been) and was dry, fatty and the bark was so tough it was like jerky. The sides were delicious but the meat was a let down. Sadly we won’t be back. Do yourself a favor and go to Blanchards BBQ in Lafayette the Q is always top shelf, and the portions...
