Fezzo's wasn't a good experience.
I thought the portions could have been more for the high prices, and the fried oysters were overcooked and partially burned.
The taste and quality of the rest of the seafood platter was actually pretty decent. I give it a B minus.
The seafood platter online said it comes with frog legs, but I found out that it didn't, once I got back to my hotel room. I called to let them know, and the young lady was very curt with me. She said it doesn't come with frog legs. I asked her to wait a few seconds, while I make sure what I saw online actually said frog legs. She put me on hold without letting me know. I waited a couple of minutes while she had me listening to music, but she never returned. I disconnected and decided to call back. She answered once more only to hear me remind her that I didn't have any frog legs with my order. She then told me that the order could not have come with frog legs because they don't sell frog legs at all. The young lady could and should have told me that from the very start. She didn't even apologize for the online menu saying that frog legs are included with the platter.
I explained to her that it wasn't such a big deal, and that I was actually doing them a favor for the next customer who might experience what I unfortunately found out. I didn't expect anything, and I wasn't actually upset about the situation. Money wasn't an issue because that simply wasn't my purpose for informing them about left out frog legs. After all, the order was 32 dollars, and I gave a generous tip for a curbside service waitress; therfore, for that reason a business should be even more courteous, at least one would think. But money wasn't the reason why I called back, but it should have been part of the reason to give good service.
Anyhow, before I can asked her to inform management about the error online pertaining to their menu, she quickly disconnected or hung up the phone. Maybe she was trying to hurry to close because it was turkey eve. I don't know why the young lady was so crude , but I do know that no matter what are the circumstances, a business should not be so rude, especially after I just spent almost 40 dollars for a meal.
I will never do business with Fezzos again, at least not the one in Broussard, Louisiana. As a matter of fact, I refuse to do any business with any of their locations. I am sure they will still survive, but I will feel good about my little peanuts of money that I decided to splurge and treat myself to a decent meal, which I don't do often, particularly after losing everything in Hurricanes Laura and Delta.
I never asked for her name, and even if I had asked, I wouldn't dare post her name. It wasn't my intent to inflict harm on the young lady as far as job security. I just would like Fezzo's to have a talk with all of the people answering phone calls and taking orders.
I am displaced and have been staying in Lafayette since August. People told me about Fezzo's in both locations of Broussard and Scott. I have seen the one in Scott, Louisiana many times when passing on I-10 and have always wanted to try Fezzo's. Well, I did, and unlike General McArthur, I shall not return to any of them.

Read moreThis has been my second visit to Fezzo's Seafood - this time with my mother and my son - and honestly, I don't quite understand the draw. I'll start from the outside and work my way in. LOCATION (Outside): Off of Ambassador Caffery Parkway, between Youngville HWY and Bernard Road. Normally a pretty busy parking lot at night which would suggest there is something pretty darn special on the inside. LOCATION (Inside): Brightly lit and welcoming, but also kind of cold inside. I'm a good-sized man and I was feeling a bit chilly, so I can only imagine what it may be like for others. STAFF: Excellent. Our server was busy but also on the ball. He was there when needed and busy elsewhere when not. And, he never once timed a question right as I took a bite of food - a personal pet-peeve. How am I supposed to answer anything with a mouthful of food, right? I do think he may have mis-entered my order because I ordered the Red Snapper Supreme and what I received was a piece of Red Snapper and a roll. I didn't check him on it, but that was disappointing. FOOD: Very good, but nothing particularly "special" about it. As I said, my "supreme" - wasn't. My mother's shrimp dinner looked rather bland in presentation - she said it seemed a bit chewy for shrimp. My son, on the other hand, having ordered popcorn shrimp and French fries looked like he actually received the most bang for the buck! Half the plate was crispy fried shrimp, the other half was a good portion of fries! And hence we come to the final portion of the review... PRICE: If we had all ordered off of the kids menu, plus the fresh oysters and bread pudding for desert - that price point probably would have been more agreeable. For what we received however, I feel we paid about 40-50% more than it should have been. When three people have a three digit dinner you kind of expect a "Wow" factor. I think we received more of a "Hmm, ok....
Read moreOur 1953 NIHS graduating class met for Lunch at Fezzo's in Broussard 4X in 2018. The last one was in October and we have one scheduled for January. Without reserving & paying for a separate room, the restaurant adds an 18% gratuity to each bill & provides tables within a secluded area of the large dining room with servers for our group. It was a real improvement and sped up the checking out process when the restaurant used an electronic application to track & collect payment from each diner(s). The waitresses were friendly & handled each order, table delivery. and billing transaction efficiently. As a group, we were not restricted to a limited menu but could select any item off the main menu. We chose the crawfish etoufee and blacked fish & shrimp with side orders. Both were nicely seasoned and delicious. Disappointed that we were not asked after the meal whether we wanted anything else/ to drink. Coffee would certainly have been good. With the additional charge added, our bill for two was around $50.00. Fezzo's many dining rooms & bar have nice decor & atmosphere. Its physical design layout is good. Where we were located, nothing special. Make it a point to sit on outside of the long tables because on the opposite side, it was close quarters & difficult to enter and exit going behind seated classmates. UPDATE: Held our quarterly NIHS Class luncheon at Fezzo's on April 28th. The restauraunt closed off section where we were dining & placed the tables in center making seating easily accessible. It was not disturbing that other groups were sharing partioned...
