Went to Bru Burgers on a Saturday to celebrate a Birthday. Party of Eight. We had to wait a good while to be seated despite that the dining room was not full. One in our party noted the wait and I told them the Cunningham's sign at the entrance meant we would get a good dining experience. Apparently, I jinxed it by saying that. The reason for the seating delay was because our server for the evening had not shown up for work yet. We saw others arrive earlier as they clocked in near the front. We were finally seated, and our drink orders were taken. One member of our party ordered a specialty cocktail at that time. We were also served a glass of water that tasted like "Speedway" water, which is not a compliment to the taste. Manager should drink a glass. Our server then disappeared for a somewhat long period of time. In the interim, the heated turned off and it got cold enough I had to put on my jacket. We as a guy clearing a table about it and he said he did not know what to do about it. We asked for him to check on it. One in our party joked they were going to outside to warm up. It was near freezing outside. Becoming closer to that inside. Our server came and took entree orders and brought drink refills. We then inquired about the missing cocktail order. Server said she would check on it and about the heat since she did not have any control over it. A bit later, the manager stopped by to see how things were going. We noted the heat and the drink. He told us he would check on the drink and stated the heater was on a timer. Nothing about he would address the issue. Apparently on a timer nothing he could do. Not the first cold day off Fall, so I guess they just don't care. The missing drink finally showed up with the entrees. I had a burger that was horseradish themed. It was very sloppily prepared and I would have expected to taste some horseradish in there somewhere, but Nope. It was tasty. My girl friends burger was undercooked but the server did another disappearing act. By this time she was over it and did not want to make a fuss and embarrassed the niece whose birthday it was and wanted to come to bru burgers by complaining a bunch. When the server finally put back in an appearance my girlfriend noted the underdone burger and server said she would report it to the manager. Oh goody. They did take it off the bill at the end. All in all a very disappointing experience, especially for a Cunningham restaurant. I have been to other Cunningham restaurants like Charbonos the Boulder Creek, Nessos and this is by far the worst dining experience from top to bottom. Zeros for service, atmosphere, and management. By the way, I have previously been to the Bru Burger in the Southside location and...
Read moreI had the pleasure of savoring the mouthwatering Patty Melt at Bru Burger, and I must say, it was an absolute delight for my taste buds! From the first bite to the last, I was treated to a symphony of flavors that left me craving for more.
The patty melt was a perfect balance of savory and indulgence, with each element harmoniously complementing the other. The juicy, perfectly cooked beef patty was sandwiched between two slices of buttery, toasted rye bread, which added a delightful crunch to each mouthful. The melted Swiss cheese hugged the patty like a warm, comforting embrace, bringing a rich and creamy texture to the ensemble.
But what truly set this Patty Melt apart was the addition of caramelized onions. Their sweetness provided a delightful contrast to the savory elements, creating a heavenly amalgamation of tastes that left me utterly satisfied.
The presentation was a feast for the eyes as well. The golden-brown rye bread encased the patty and cheese in a way that made it irresistible to look at. The accompanying golden fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned to perfection, making for a perfect sidekick to the star of the show.
The service at Bru Burger was exemplary, with friendly staff who were attentive and passionate about their culinary creations. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall experience, with its cozy yet modern setting.
Overall, the Patty Melt at Bru Burger is an absolute must-try for anyone craving a delectable, comfort-filled meal. Bursting with flavor and served with care, this dish has earned its place as a memorable highlight in the world of burgers. I’ll definitely be returning to indulge in this culinary...
Read moreMy wife and I were so excited that we could take our son and dog on the patio for dinner! We arrived and were seated within 15min around 5pm. At the same time, 2 other tables were seated nearby. It took nearly 15min for a server to come take our drink order (thought this was a bit long considering only about 1/3 of the tables had patrons) but we shrugged it off. Took another 15min to be able to place our order. Server informed us some of the kitchen staff were new and training but she promised it wouldn’t take more than 20-30min to get our food. Over 45min later, our server had not returned to check on us a single time, and we still had no food. Meanwhile, the other 2 tables that were sat at the same time had finished their meals. I finally had to go inside to find our server, paid her for our drinks, and left without food. I even had plenty of time to look into the kitchen and not a single plate of our order was in the window. As we loaded up in our car to go, a staff person came up and apologized and asked us to come back. I informed him we had been there for nearly 1.5hr and had only seen our server three times. He then told me that she didn’t put in our ticket until 6:02… this would have meant 27min after she took our order. Not sure who to believe, but with so many stories and miscommunications we won’t be recommending going here for sure.
Folks should also take note… Tia review was several weeks ago and of all of the reviews, the company hasn’t responded to me, but have responded to nearly all!. That should tell folks a lot about...
