This place has plenty of space so even when it’s busy, I never once had an issue with not being able to find a seat. Commongrounds is the only coffee shop (that I know of) in Brownwood/Early besides Starbucks and unfortunately, the coffee here is not my favorite- I’ve tried their coffee 3 or 4 times and it wasn’t for me. I feel like the coffee here tastes a little watered down and I don’t get the roasted coffee bean flavor that I crave. As for the food here, it’s a hit or miss. I tried their BLT sandwich but I would personally skip it. The bacon was too crunchy and hard (it reminded me of those bacon bits that you put on top of salads). If that’s your thing, go for it but it was personally not for me. Something I thoroughly enjoyed from their food menu was their breakfast burritos. I’ve tried their green chile chicken w/avcado burrito as well as their brisket burritos and they were both delicious! And when you add their homemade red and/or green sauce, it’s even better. That being said, I tried their ‘bowl’ version and it’s just the filling of the burrito without the tortilla andI didn’t think it was worth it. Overall, Comongrounds Coffee is a great spot to catch up with friends or get some work done (they have outlets towards the back as well as wifi). Not to mention, the workers there are friendly and helpful! If you visit, I highly recommend getting their breakfast burritos!

This old fire station has new life as a casual coffee house named Common Grounds. Meet here to relax, catch up or just meditate. Breakfast burritos( the bacon one I got was full of bacon. Hard bacon but still ,more than most other places in town will give you ),coffees ,lattes ( they actually look and taste as good as Starbucks except cheaper ). all served here. So if you dont feel like driving way to Early to get your specialty drink fix, stop here. I'm not knockin Starbucks but this place is bigger, cheaper and heck of a lot closer. Parking is plentiful. If you are wheelchair mobile, this place has wide spaces so no worries. Kid friendly. Expect to pay about $10.00 a person for beverage and burrito. Well worth the trip. Drive through moves fast too.

This is a nice little coffee shop I visited while on a road trip with my bestie. The coffee shop was nice and had plenty of seating. I loved the old fire truck they had displayed - complete with a plushie Dalmatian sitting in the front seat. The iced latte I had was very nice and the breakfast taco was very good and filling!

Sadly having to take it from my previous 5 star to a 1 star. Not sure what changed besides the new location, but the food is NOT what it was! Coffee is trash. It's sad. I used to come here at least once a week for my favorite brisket burrito with the green sauce, for many years. Since they new location I was so excited! The drive thru has a huge screen so I was pumped to order from that instead of waiting to get to the window and then having to pull around and park and wait for 15 minutes. But guess what guys...it's literally just a menu screen you still have to wait to order til the window and park and wait forever even when they aren't busy. Then when I finally get my order the tortilla was hard and the brisket was only like warm and I had mostly fat and very little meat. My son's burrito was also the same poor quality. So I think maybe they are having an off day. I have went back two more time, I went in once and it was so loud with the employees not the patrons, me and my son couldn't even hear each other talking while sitting at the table. We then wrapped our cold food we got up and took it home to try and salvage it. Sadly it was a bust. So gave it one more try and got coffee... For $12 and it to taste like literal Luke warm spoiled milk was the last straw for me. So sad because this used to be one of my favorite places! Beautiful new location,...

We were driving through Brownwood and ready for breakfast and clean restrooms. Based upon a google search, we decided to try Common Grounds and I’m so glad we did. It’s a cozy little establishment specializing in coffees and breakfast burritos. I had a bacon, egg, cheese, and potato burrito while my husband ordered a sausage, egg, cheese and potato burrito. The burritos were huge and made with homemade tortillas, served with either red or green hot sauce upon request. The green hot sauce was wonderful. We were warmly welcomed by one of the owners of the husband/wife team. The burritos were made to order and were definitely some of the best burritos we’ve ever had. We had already met our caffeine quota for the day, but next time we’re in the area, we will try the coffee to go with those burritos. With clean facilities, friendly staff, and great burritos, Common Grounds is the kind of place I look forward...
