Fielders Choice Ice Cream — Restaurant in Brunswick

A huge disappointment!!!!!!

BEWARE - this place takes CASH ONLY! I was up for July 4 and I’d heard great things about this place, so took the family here, and after all the kids had ordered their ice cream, we were turned away when I offered my credit card.

No Apple or google pay either here. They had an atm, but I don’t carry a debit card because my credit card gives cash back rewards.

So whole family was disappointed because this place won’t move out of the 19th century!

Addendum: I know the real reason they want cash is to not have to pay processing fees. But seriously, wouldn’t it be better to raise prices a few cents and not have to turn people away?

Plus, everyone with debit cards has to then pay the atm fee. I’d rather just pay a few cents more for the ice cream. Not very fair to your customers!!!

Finally, we had checked out your website menu before going (I was drooling for the dugout floor sundae!). If you’re going to impose a cash-only restriction on your customers, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN BIG RED LETTERS AT THE TOP OF THE MENU! That way we could have never come in the 1st place rather than being turned away.

I will never come back here on future trips because your place will always be associated with memories of anger and...

Incredible ice cream! Great service-everyone is soooo nice and professional! The staff are part of the reason why we love Fielders Choice in Brunswick. The lineup of choice is amazing- from sundaes to milkshakes to soft serve. My favorite is the hot fudge topping and the delicious peanut butter topping. I wish you had a location in Maryland! We visited the Brunswick location many times during our recent three week vacation on Harpswell. Thank you for the consistent great service and delicious ice cream sundaes. We are eagerly awaiting our next trip to Maine to enjoy...

I always take family out for ice cream or get it to take home when I come to ME for a visit & this is my go to spot! Really can't beat it in the Brunswick area!! Always a favorite by everyone. I love Fielder's coffee order & peanut butter cup flavors. Our family dog loves the pup cups! Love the drive-thru option, the convenience keeps me coming back. The staff is always super kind & accommodating. Plenty of parking if you choose to walk up to their window. Cash only might be the only negative, which sometimes catches me off guard because I'm not there often enough to remember...they do have an ATM at the front...
