We decided to try out this furniture store in Brunswick, as we are local Freeport residents and are remodeling a den in our log home. We also in past years have always tried to shop at, and support, local vendors, no matter the size of the purchase. Upon arriving and looking around, we met Marcus, who was friendly, polite, and professional. We explained what we were looking for (a small sofa-bed and some end tables), and he showed us the options available to us. Marcus was clearly knowledgeable about not only his inventory, but of all aspects of each of the several pieces that we looked at. We did find what we thought would be some ideal pieces, and Marcus walked us through the payment process. He arranged for delivery within about 10 days (excellent timing for us!). The two gentlemen who delivered were just wonderful – careful of bringing the new furniture in, as well as in not scratching anything when doing so. They even took a door off to accommodate the new sofa bed. To top it off, they were just wonderful to our two overly excited dogs. Such a comforting experience overall! The day after delivery, we did however discover what appeared to be a manufacturing defect with one of the tables. We called Marcus, and he asked us to return it as soon as possible (we could fit it in our car), and he would work with us to replace it. Lo and behold, after looking around a bit, we found a matching table which was smaller than the scratched one, but actually fit better in our den overall. We also then purchased two end table lamps and a standing lamp while there, which met all our needs for the remodeled den. We cannot fully express our satisfaction with this entire transaction, start to finish. Marcus, Chloe, and staff we met were all gracious, warm, and professional. The delivery was completed smoothly thanks to two great guys with such comfortable personalities, and who did all the hard work. Prices were reasonable, quality of materials seems excellent overall, and we feel so confident with our purchases. This Spring we hope to replace our living room sofa and stuffed chair/ottoman, and we know that our first, and probably final stop to do so, will be at “Sweet Dreams” Furniture. I cannot express strongly enough how horrified and disappointed I am by the greed and insensitivity displayed by Sweet Dreams and owner, Marcus Headley during my transaction with them this summer.

My family was in a tight bind this summer as the patriarch of my family passed leaving my 80 year old mother alone for the first time in 50 years. Because we were having a memorial service at our home we needed to remove my fathers bedroom set and replace it so family would have a guest room made up that didn't remind everybody of how sick my father had been. My mother sent my husband and myself to Sweet Dreams to procure a new mattress and we were talked into buying one that was more than my mother wanted to spend but, was manufactured in New England and therefore we were GUARANTEED delivery in time for our services. My mother is on limited income so this was a BIG expenditure for her. Not only did the mattress not arrive in the guaranteed time frame but, we were told that even if it did, Sweet Dreams would not be able to deliver it because they would be "too busy" and couldn't be bothered to do a weekend delivery. We had no choice but to go purchase a mattress elsewhere to accommodate my fathers family. We went ahead and cancelled our purchase with Sweet Dreams and hurriedly set up a new guest room with hours to spare.

Long story short, Mr. Headley refused to cancel the order and kept the deposit of $750.00 citing the order as a "special order" which wasn't something I was aware of and i believe to be an excuse to take money from a widow who isn't able to retaliate. We simply went into a business and ordered a piece of furniture that was being sold and it couldn't be delivered after we were GUARANTEED that it would be, especially after hearing the reason why we needed it. My father was a policeman and an educator and didn't make a lot of money so my mom being out $750.00 with nothing to show for it as well as the price of another bed is simply heartbreaking for her as we try to figure out how to keep her financially viable as she grieves. At the least we should have been given a credit towards something else in the store that she might like to have in her home. Repugnant and...

Around Christmas time 2021.....This story starts over ten years ago at Sweet Dreams Home Furnishings in Brunswick, Maine. My wife wanted a new bedroom set, but a classy one. after shopping at a lot of places we stopped here. She found a set she loved (very nice, great quality, people have commented on the beautiful styling and wood colors etc), so I was smart enough to get it for her. Ten+ years later we went looking for a new mattress. The furniture has held up marvelously! After several stores, we headed towards Walmart and she said hey, we should go back to Sweet Dreams. The staff there was very accommodating answering all my mattress questions, they didn't make our exact mattress anymore but they researched and had our old files and matched us up with the closest thing. And when they ran a sales price to me, including delivery, setup, and removal; of the older mattress, ironically it was the best price out of three other quotes we had picked up at other places, and the other places had sales prices and even military discount included but Sweet Dreams actually was the one my wife went with. They had to order it (pandemic!!!! supply! aargh!), but they said it could be shipped January 5th to get here. Well they have communicated (multiple emails) and called to let us know when it came in (earlier than we expected), and to setup a delivery/pickup etc. A storm cancelled the first delivery but they emailed and called and reset up the soonest (2 days later!) delivery again. The story ends today, they showed up, the guys were quick, courteous, and professional. And everything that was promised, happened. When you get treated well, you should let others know so you help other people who may be looking. Thanks Sweet dreams for an actual really good experience, yet again. v/r...
