This is not a family or kid friendly cafe or patrons. There are no high chairs or booster seats. I did not discover this until it was too late and I had already ordered and paid. This overstimulated, and stressed mom just wanted a safe, clean, place to eat with her 2 year old, with a nearby bathroom. I purposely went while it was not busy. Apparently I offended 2 nearby customers (the only customers dining in at the time) with my parenting skills who left after their meal while talking. I quickly started to pack up, and bus the table even though i had not finished my meal. It was clear we were no longer welcome there. The owner then attempted to discipline my 2 year old by blocking her in a corner of the room. (My daughter had moved over to another empty table, and I was trying to discipline her/explain why we couldn't do that). I asked her not to discipline her, and picked her up and moved her back to our table. The owner got in her face and attempted again. I will admit I then got angry towards the owner, and swore at the owner, after i asked her twice not to talk to my child. The problem was obviously with me. She should have been having a discussion with me, not my 2 year who does not understand. I left in tears and completely distraught. The over priced food was mediocre. I regret leaving a 25% tip for counter service. I felt shamed for being a mother, attempting to feed myself...

Cute indoor dining at the start of Maine St. Or pick something from the convenient grab & go case, & sit next door on the Green commons park.
Really liked their "Make your Own" concept: choose a lettuce type, then your protein, + housemade dressing. I chose butter lettuce w/ curried chicken salad + green goddess dressing.
The club sandwich had a roasted garlic aioli...so good! Also serving fresh brewed iced tea. Brownies are gigantic, as are the thick chocolate chip cookies.
Super friendly service. The owner is the same as the original Walter's in Portland.

Read moreWe stopped in at this brand new cafe/restaurant in Brunswick and were really impressed with the food and the friendly welcome! It was so nice we wanted to be their first reviewer!
We had a delicious tomato bisque soup with some great bread on the side (baked from scratch in house), and an interesting and tasty twist on a quiche—I don’t remember what they called it, but it combined eggs and cheese with a base of thin sliced potatoes. They also had beautiful looking salads that had the names of the local farms that the ingredients were sourced from.
Truly farm to table, and we understand they will soon add Walter’s “famous fish chowder” (he is a longstanding restaurateur in these parts), along with other soups and stews. We will be...
