The cashier was interesting to say the least. He was way too stressed out to be the face of the joint. Kept complaining that it was too busy and not enough people were scheduled (3 were there). There were only about 10 people I'm the joint the whole time we were there. Not including my family though. We about doubled the occupants. He kept saying they we "under worked and over paid". 🤔 I feel bad for the sweet little old lady who got the brunt of his stress lectures and didn't take it as well as we did.
However, I did appreciate his honesty when asked about his favorite food, "I don't eat DQ food". Or "I wouldn't order that". After I told him he was the worst salesperson in the world (with a smile of course), he proceeded to say that he sold them out of chicken strips the day before. Considering the amount of stress he was exhibiting just a few moments before, he took the comment quite well. Must really like chicken strips, or is delusional on his influence. Anyway, he created a memorable atmosphere, made us laugh, made us raise our eyebrows and confused us all at the same time. I will also say that his claim to fame is quite amazing. He said he once ate an entire DQ ice cream sheet cake in one sitting (the large one). Not bad for someone who doesn't eat DQ food. Maybe ice cream isn't food?
If you want a break from the usual boring fast food ordering process, figure out when he is working and it will surely provide you with a new experience. If novelty is not your style, visit another time. He likes the night shift, not the dinner shift BTW (stress).
Otherwise, this is a typical DQ. They'll try to dump your shake on the floor before they had it to you, but I've never seen anyone succeed. It is either as thick as they claim or they glue it in the cup well. That reminds me, for a guy that doesn't eat DQ food, the guy made a good blizzard recommendation. It had pineapple, coconuts and bananas in it. I don't remember the name. Though, maybe ice cream isn't food?
Like I said. A little confusing and odd, but very entertaining. I hope he is my cashier next time. Will surely remove the typical mundane and impersonal...
Read moreThis is my favorite DQ in the area. It's close by, stays clean, the people working there are friendly and accommodating and they always have a "red" soda in the soda machine!
They have updated their interior at least once since I started going there and exterior at least twice. Not so sure about the directed drive-thru lane, but they probably had their reasons (I believe that some people may have been waiting too long on the road itself instead of coming into the parking lot and using some common sense about it - but I am just guessing.) The interior is nice and open, with that classic DQ bench seating for the most part.
I'll have to double-check - they used to have days where they served the soft-serve in CHOCOLATE flavor as well as vanilla each week. That was always a nice treat, although it really is just mixing in chocolate syrup before freezing it, I am sure. ;-)
My hole family has been to this DQ many times and I expect they will be to it many more times in the future. It's what DQs always have been and should be. Family friendly, cozy, good comforting food - hot, fresh and made to order with people who are there...
Read moreI went here a few days ago they have a new cook by the name of Devin Jackson. He gave me excellent service I hope they are paying this guy well I would love to have him at my business. I spent a good 76$ at the 3507 E 29th St location in Bryan tx I ordered steak fingers, chicken fingers, and several burgers with ice cream and drinks as well. My food was hot and delicious!! I will be coming here for now on and bringing my family as well. He even went out of his way to make sure I had napkins and ketchup as well even when I couldn’t get a response from the cashiers in the front. He overcompensated for the store in general and makes this business look really well. I saw him moving and making food all by himself and there was allot of people coming in I hope he doesn’t over work himself. I loved his work ethic and decided to leave him a generous tip for his hospitality. I’m greatly appreciative thanks Devin! And...
