I went in there on a Friday evening. I expected it to be busy. Only four people were eating. A total of eight people, including myself, waited in line so that we could order inside. Meanwhile, a line of cars wrapped around the outside for the drive-through. Two employees were in the kitchen, taking the orders. One employee was waiting on the long line of cars in the drive-through. The only other two employees were out in the front parking lot changing the sign. The sign is manual, mind you. People in line remarked about The two guys changing the sign instead of inside, waiting on the long line of customers. A man eating a taco at one of the tables told us that it took him 30 minutes just to get a taco. I decided that, once again, this has happened before, I had made a mistake. So, I went down Texas Avenue to the other Dairy Queen, the one beside William Joel O'Brien. I'm telling you, in a nutshell, that Highway 21 Dairy Queen, their service is the worst I've ever seen. I'm only giving them one star for atmosphere, and that's only because I got a kick out of the people in line talking about how the two guys were changing the sign and how that was more important than waiting on the people inside. It's going to be a good while before I work up the nerve to go back to that place again. I'll just go to the one on...
Read moreTerrible service. Will not go to this location again. Edit: In response to the DQ account, I have been to this location easily five times in the past two months and I'm just done. I've been told that they can't make moolattes because "the espresso machine is broken" on three separate occasions. I know y'all use coffee syrup to make them, so what's this about an espresso machine? I was not trying to get something made right before closing, I was coming in between the hours of 5:30 and 8 when the store closes at 10. When I was able to get one, it tasted extremely strongly of mint and had no coffee whatsoever. I verified this with my husband, who loves mint, doesn't like coffee, and ended up being the one who ate it. After that, I just gave up on trying to get a moolatte here.
The night I originally wrote this review, not only did it take over 20 minutes to get food, but I got to watch the drive-thru cashier sing and dance the whole time. The reason they had trouble understanding my order over the speaker appeared to be due to the fact that they had an air pod in on the ear that was not occupied by the drive-thru headset. The music was going loud enough that I could hear it when the window opened and had to lunge for my food because they let go of it the instant the front edge of the bag cleared the...
Read moreVery disappointed. I waiting for approximately twelve minutes for my food which was two chicken strip baskets. With the wait time one would assume that the food would be fresh but it couldn't be further from the truth. The bread and Fries were soggy almost like they were already dipped in gravy. The chicken strips did not taste fried at all, they tasted more like they were set under warming lights for a couple of hours. The gravy in my container was only half-full. The gravy for my daughter's was full however they were both of the consistency of water. Dairy Queen used to be a place we could really enjoy the food at. I'm highly disappointed in this location. I would have taken it back and demanded a refund for this trash that I was served but time didn't allow it as I have to be somewhere already. At least my dogs...
