Jackie Blu's — Restaurant in Bryan

Looking at the average review and the pictures, I expected it to be good. This is the first and last time for me. First off, I expected an hour after being seated would be enough time to eat, but by the time the waitress came to take our order, we had already finished the very average appetizers we had gotten. With only 10 minutes left before we needed to leave for an appointment, we had still not gotten our dishes, and had to change our order to go. They weren't even close to packed either. On the contrary, they hardly had anyone in there. The burger I got was fairly well made, but very plain. The baked potato was literally a potato with a slit cut in it. My wife's wrap was ok, but the meat wasn't even warm anymore, and the baked sweet potato was just as disappointing. On top of that, the food was seriously undeserving of the price. I even gave the worst tip I can remember giving, $5 for a $73 bill, as opposed to my usual of at least 20%. I will never be going back. Does bryan have anywhere with better than average food? I wasn't looking for the typical. I could've just gone to any family diner for that quality of food. Best burgers in town? Don't make me laugh. So disappointed that I can't remember the last time I was this disappointed...

I’ve eaten here many times and food was avaerage at best but my last visit was the worst experience most rude waitress and manager I’ve ever had anywhere. I took my mother there to eat and I ordered the chicken parmigiana. I asked what noodles it came with and was told angel hair. When I got the meal it was fettuccine thick noodles. I was going to make due until I tasted the chicken which was burnt black on the bottom. I couldn’t eat it and called the waitress over to send it back. I was nice and just said I couldn’t eat it. She gave me a dirty look and took it away. She never asked me if I wanted to order something else and didn’t come back to our table. When she finally appeared I said it would have been nice if someone would have apologized for the bad food and luckily my mother had extra food and I ate some of hers. The waitress called the “manager” and said he better handle this altercation. I was amazed she was so out of line it was ridiculous and the manager says is there a problem here. I couldn’t believe the response and was Appalled at their response. I’ll NEVER eat there again. Such low life trash with no manners or...

Husband and I ordered dinner. He ordered a chicken which was a special. It had bacon and mustard and some type of sauce on it. It was delicious. I ordered the 10 oz ribeye with sautéed mushrooms and a side of steamed broccoli. My steak was to be medium, it was medium rare, which I can deal with but the sear was awful. No flavor, chilled and my mushrooms were ice cold. The broccoli was just plain, no butter, no salt or seasoning of any kind and Luke warm. I did not complain to the waitress and just ate what I could. I did taste my husband's chicken meal and it was piping hot and delicious which told me that mine sat there for a while as his was being prepared. Maybe time management is the issue. Any other time we have been here, the food was as great as the service and atmosphere. To sum up, we will go back, but I won't be having the steak again. P.S. try the chicken Alfredo or the Brussel sprout augraten when they have it....
