India Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of spices and the warm ambiance set the stage for what turned out to be a delightful culinary journey. Let's talk about the food. The Gobi Gopura — a cauliflower dish that's not your average fare — was absolutely outstanding. It was perfectly spiced, with a crispy exterior that gave way to tender cauliflower florets bursting with flavor. Each bite was a harmonious blend of spices that left me craving more. I've eaten at several Indian restaurants, but I've yet to have any gobi gopura that compares to this!
The butter chicken was another highlight of the meal. Creamy, rich, and with just the right amount of tanginess, it was a testament to the chef's skill in balancing flavors. The tender chicken pieces soaked in the velvety sauce were simply divine.
And then there was the korma. Smooth, aromatic, and indulgent, it showcased a medley of vegetables and meats simmered in a heavenly cashew and coconut sauce. The mild spices allowed the natural flavors to shine through, making it a comforting choice that paired beautifully with the fragrant basmati rice.
Beyond the exceptional food, the service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations with enthusiasm. The ambiance was inviting, with tasteful decor that transported me to India, even if just for a meal.
In conclusion, this Indian restaurant surpassed my expectations on every front. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Indian cuisine or new to its flavors, I highly recommend trying their Gobi Gopura, butter chicken, and korma — you won't be disappointed. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their craft, and their dedication to quality and authenticity shines through in every dish. Their food feels like a long...
Read moreI have seen this place a few times and thought of giving it a shot for well over a year, and tonight, we finally did. I am very impressed with the flavors, options, and service. It's difficult to find a quality Indian restaurant in Central Arkansas; if you are reading, give this one a fair chance.
First, do yourself a favor and get the Mango Lassi it's amazing. We shared one, and I also heard the table across from us order one too and exclaimed how amazing it was.
The Naan was great; fresh, hot, and flavorful. We had Cheese Naan and Garlic Naan. Couldn't have asked for anything more and paired well with each of our main dishes. There was plenty leftover to take home.
For each of our main dishes, Chicken Korma and Lamb Rojan Josh, the flavors were balanced amazingly, and the serving size was plenty to share and take home for lunch tomorrow. I will say, and not a major complaint, I wish the rice would have been fresh. To be fair, we came in 1½ hours before closing; I'm not going to expect a whole fresh batch of basmati rice to be prepared just for only 5 people in the restaurant near closing. It was still flavorful. I just could tell it'd been prepared earlier.
Pricing is what you'd expect at your basic Indian restaurant, but the quality and flavors are not basic. Great value!
Will be going back again soon to try other options. I was really debating on whether to get the Korma or the Briyani; I will try next time along with the Mahi. I noticed many great reviews about the Mahi Mahi, and the server mentioned how great it is, too.
Ordered: Mango Lassi, Garlic Naan, Cheese Naan, Chicken Korma, and...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at India Cafe, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly and attentive staff who made us feel right at home. The service throughout our meal was impeccable; the servers were knowledgeable, efficient, and always ready with a warm smile.
Now, onto the food – which truly was the highlight of our visit. We started with the Chilli Paneer, which was perfectly spiced and had just the right amount of heat, making it an ideal appetizer to kickstart our meal. The Paneer Tikka Masala was a symphony of flavors, with its rich and creamy sauce enveloping the tender, marinated paneer. Each bite was a delight, and the dish was generously portioned.
The Malai Kofta, another standout, featured soft and flavorful koftas in a luscious gravy that was both creamy and aromatic. It’s clear that a lot of care and tradition goes into preparing these dishes, as they each had a depth of flavor that’s hard to come by.
And then there was the Gulab Jamun – hands down the best I’ve ever had. These sweet, syrup-soaked treats were the perfect end to our meal. They were warm, melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and just the right amount of sweetness.
Overall, India Cafe exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of outstanding service and superb food makes it a must-visit. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is sure to impress....
