Gary Z's Sub Shop — Restaurant in Buchanan

I have lived within 15 miles of Gary Z's for 66 of my 66.5 years and, regrettably, this was my first visit. Regrettable because I could have been enjoying it for almost 1/2 my life and now I am forced to play catch-up. I may have to live forever. The service is quick & friendly, the "staff" is really Gary's family and very friendly & efficient, and my Gary's Combo was made with deli-quality meats & cheese and freshly sliced vegetables on a freshly baked whole wheat sub roll. I got a large to eat 1/2.for lunch and 1/2 for dinner, but it was all gone by 3:00pm. I couldn't resist. With a homemade cookie I got out for under $10 + tip.

I first heard of Gary Z's last summer, but just made it there in February, 2022. I'll be going back regularly. It's going to become my "Buchanan Hot Dogs Plus", HDP being my favorite...

If your in the mood for the best sub you have ever sunk your teeth in then this is the sub shop for you . The two ladies that own and run it always make you feel special when you walk into their place and pick one if many different subs they make , they also have specials , and also homemade soup ! They make their own sub buns , but you had better get one by noon because they always sell out , then you have to wait another day to get one . This is by far my favorite sub shop anywhere ! Good job girls ! I'm giving you a bunch of thumbs up's ....

Hands down the BEST sub shop in the Buchanan-Niles area, probably even the whole Michiana area!
