Hilltop's Creekside Cafe — Restaurant in Buchanan

Ordered the chicken and waffles. Got half a waffle, small waffle size to begin with, but just a half! Then the chicken tenders were three scrawny things. Barely could be considered nuggets. I’ve seen pictures of chicken and waffles and the chicken are usually big crispy tenders! Pitiful and embarrassing name for chicken and waffles. Should have taken a picture but was so starving. Black coffee refill was the last of the pot and all grounds. No one came by to check on us when we got our food. And the worst was we were done eating for atleast 20 minutes I had to stop our original waiter asked if he was still taking care of us he said yes I said can we have our bill and he brings it over.. I give my card.. he brings it back and AND wait he was standing over me for me to write a tip… extremely bad etiquette. Gave a generous 18% tip cause I know the food and coffee wasn’t his fault but the bad manners and terrible service… Definitely a learning point here. I was hungry, its a rural area. Asked a couple locals for a restaurant and got directed to this place. When i pulled up, there were like 2 cars in the parking lot at noon. Not a good sign. The place just looked dreay from the outside, door hanging half shut. My expectations were low from first impressions. Talk about being the opposite! The food was amazing, it was fast, servers were friendly. We're talking, that place was amazing, I've GOT to come back next time I'm in the area. It was a simple club, but on steriods. It was huge, plentifully filled with bacon and turkey. On the specials is something called a Thanksgiving pizza. I'm intrigued. Got a boston cream bomb for dessert that was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I had burgers, we ate at the restaurant. It was crowded but they were getting people seated and served quickly. We didn't have to wait for a table but other people did, I would say 10 minutes at the most. The burgers were really good. They had a nice char on the outside without being dry. They bring a bunch of toppings on the side which my boyfriend and I appreciate. Me because I don't have to ask for everything for my burger, him because he doesn't have to pick stuff off. The crinkle fries were good. They weren't overcooked like some places make them. Food was excellent for the price. We'll be back when we come back...
