McCollum's Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Buchanan

Went to McCollum’s Saturday night with a party of 3. Started with the jalapeño popper Eggrolls, which were delicious. They were served with a a raspberry sauce on the side that enhanced the flavor and balanced out the spicy with some sweetness and the gooey cheese with a little acid. My husband had the chicken piccata and ate every bite. My bff and I both had the strawberry Parmesan salad, and she added grilled chicken to hers. I paired mine with the Cajun spice rubbed chicken wings. I think they may be the best wings I’ve ever had, and are certainly in the very top tier. Crispy without being greasy and excellent seasoning that I paired with blue cheese, which was so tasty. Our server was great - very skillful. The only category I think could use any improvement was the decor. It was not as unique and impressive as the food - very basic tables and chairs, though comfortable. I believe they’re pretty new, so maybe the decor will match the impressive menu and service with a bit more time. I would happily go back, and I will not share my leftover wings...

Visited McCollum’s on day 3 after opening. We did enjoy our experience and the atmosphere, however, the food was over priced for what we received. We ordered a $15 flat bread (it was listed as an appetizer) that we assumed could feed 1 as a meal considering the cheapest dinner meal was $27 based on the menus pricing. The flat bread was very small, served on a thin tortilla-like crust. It did not wow us. The table that joined us also got another flatbread flavor & they were not impressed either. I have seen marketing of this place being budget friendly, however, they have pricing like a fine dining restaurant for the area in my opinion. I do really love the space & look forward to see how they grow in...

McCollum’s is not just a meal it’s an experience. The versatility of this restaurant blows my mind. Comfortable enough to bring the whole family and intimate enough to go on date night to connect with your person. Still need to bring my girls for a night out drinking but I suspect that will be just as satisfying as my previous visits. It really makes a difference when you can tell the love and care that was put into planning and creating such a unique spot. You won’t regret a single thing ordered. My mouth is watering thinking about all of their egg rolls! McCollum’s is quickly becoming a staple in our out to eat choices. It will most definitely be where I recommend people...
