Yes, people can have allergic reactions to ketchup. While not as common as allergies to other foods, tomato allergies are a type of food allergy that can cause reactions to ketchup. Additionally, some individuals may have sensitivities or intolerances to ingredients in ketchup, such as tomatoes, vinegar, or certain spices. Elaboration: Tomato Allergy: Ketchup is a tomato-based product, and individuals with tomato allergies can experience reactions from consuming it. These reactions can range from mild symptoms like skin rashes or digestive issues to more severe reactions like difficulty breathing or anaphylaxis. Other Ingredients: Besides tomatoes, ketchup often contains vinegar, sugar, and spices. Some people may have sensitivities or allergies to these ingredients, which can also trigger allergic reactions when consuming ketchup. Histamines: Tomatoes and other ingredients in ketchup can be high in histamines. In individuals with histamine intolerance, consuming ketchup can lead to symptoms like headaches, skin rashes, or digestive problems. Latex-Fruit Syndrome: Individuals with latex allergies may also react to certain fruits, including tomatoes, due to cross-reactivity. This can manifest as an allergic reaction to ketchup. Symptoms: Allergic reactions to ketchup can include skin rashes, hives, itching, swelling, digestive issues, respiratory problems (like coughing or wheezing), and in severe cases, anaphylaxis. Diagnosis and Management: If you suspect an allergy or intolerance to ketchup, it's best to consult with a doctor or allergist. They can perform allergy tests (like skin prick tests or blood tests) to identify the specific allergen. If diagnosed with a tomato allergy or intolerance, avoiding ketchup and other tomato-based products is usually recommended. The reason for this review is because my mother is...
Read moreI rarely go to McDonald's and when I do, it is for coffee with a friend. Stopped by to meet a friend and the time was around noon. So of course it was busy. I ordered a large coffee and a large Coke. The customers who had already ordered their food were standing around the checkout counter waiting for their food. It appeared that the only customers who were getting their orders were the people going through the drive-thru. After 10 minutes of waiting for my drinks I decided to join my friend in one of the booths to wait. I went back up to the checkout counter to see if my order was ready. The employee were very busy bagging up drive-through orders. At this point, I was hearing customers complaining about the "ridiculous" long wait. I went back to join my friend, still with no drinks. At this point it has been about 25 minutes waiting for two drinks. After returning to the front counter for the third time in search of our beverages alas, an employee was putting a lid on a large coffee. I asked him if that could be my order of a large coffee and large Coke. He replied "Yes it is". At that point it had been close to 40 minutes. I do understand and expect it to be busy at lunchtime and I also take in consideration that maybe they were short handed (staff call off). And another factor to consider, it was a weekend. However, taking in account all of the above factors for such a slow service; 40 minutes is too long to receive two drinks. I do believe if I would have used the drive-through I would have had my order in a matter of a few minutes. Maybe McDonald's should consider closing their inside dining and offer only...
Read moreThis is the only McDonalds to have ever stolen my money, they are inconsistent in quality, rarely get an order right, and Im always baffled by how they manage new ways to make fries wrong. A month or 2 ago, I used the app to place a breakfast order and they took my money but by the time I got to the window for the food, it was past breakfast time so the manager refused to give me my food or a cash refund and I never managed to get that $20 back through the app or my bank. A few weeks later, I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, no pickle or mustard. They gave me a sandwich made of the bun, lettuce, onions, and ketchup. No cheese. No patty. A couple days ago, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, they forgot the bacon and added pickles when I ordered no pickles so I just paid extra for a regular cheeseburger. Today, I ordered a $5 mcdouble meal deal, they gave me the wrong sauce, no salt on my fries, and ignored the fact I asked for only 1 patty and, again, no pickles. Once or twice is one thing. I get having a new employee or a busy day. I try to be understanding, I really do. But every. Single. Time. Without. Fail. Is absolutely insane. The people seem friendly and I've tried being patient but if you plan on going here, just don't expect to get what you ordered. Expect a minimum of some pickles you can pull off to a max of them taking your money and not giving you your food or a refund. It's a...
