Oh, McDonald's, how I adore thee! Nothing quite compares to the warm, welcoming embrace of your lobby—except, of course, for the way you prioritize your drive-thru customers over us mere walk-ins. It's truly a marvel of modern efficiency to watch cars zip through the line, get their food, and drive away before I've even had the chance to find a seat.
It's become a delightful little game for me. I place my order and then immediately head to the nearest window to observe the parade of cars in the drive-thru. Oh look, there's a car that pulled in after me! I wonder if they'll get their food before I do. Spoiler alert: They always do. And why wouldn't they? It's not like I have anything better to do with my time than stand around and wait while people who didn't even have to leave their vehicles are served first.
I must commend McDonald's on their unwavering commitment to making the drive-thru experience so stellar. I mean, who cares about the folks inside, right? My truck is too long to fit through your blessed drive-thru, but I'm seriously considering ordering from the drive-thru window and then walking inside to enjoy my meal. Because clearly, that's the only way to ensure timely service.
So thank you, McDonald's, for making me feel like a second-class citizen every time I step inside your doors. It's a humbling experience, and one that I look forward to with each visit. Maybe one day, I'll be able to time my order just right and get my food before the car that pulled in two minutes after me. Until then, I'll just keep playing my little game and dreaming of a world where walk-in customers matter too.
Here’s a poem:
In the land of golden arches, a tale unfolds, Where fast food dreams are paved with roads. Drive-thru chariots speed with grace, While walk-ins find a slower pace.
Oh, McDonald's, with your gleaming lights, Your drive-thru lanes, such wondrous sights. For those on foot, a wait prolonged, As cars are served, we stand along.
The engine roars, the windows hum, While I, inside, await my crumb. A truck too long for lanes so tight, Resigned to watch this drive-thru flight.
Each car that rolls through brings despair, As I, still waiting, stand and stare. A game of patience, time, and woe, As outside, the cars come and go.
Yet, maybe someday I’ll be sly, Order through the drive-thru, then waltz by. For inside service, a little scheme, To chase the fast food, dine-in dream.
So thank you, dear McDonald's crew, For teaching patience, tried and true. With every visit, a humble plea, That walk-ins matter,...
Read moreIf I could leave a negative rating, I would. I ordered two large fries, a mcchicken, and a mocha frappe. Nothing really special about anything I ordered, yet I still waited 25 minutes before going in and asking what’s up. I have previously worked for McDonald’s and I know good and dang well that it does not take this long to make an order. They had plenty of staff (I know because I’ve worked a shift twice as busy with half as many people), yet EVERYONE in the lobby was still waiting on food. I left to deliver a doordash and came back to order something for my grandparents and I again waited 40+ minutes for 2 CHEESEBURGERS and 2 LARGE FRIES. I was still shorted 1 cheeseburger and 1 fry, but I’m no longer in the mood to spend my whole evening at McDonald’s. I would also like to point out how absolutely rude and disrespectful their staff was. The kid that was working counter kept rolling his eyes and mumbling under his breath and as I was walking out to leave another customer stopped me and informed me that he had been waiting for almost an HOUR for one milkshake. And the food I receive was pitiful. I will most likely never...
Read moreHas McDonald's lost its respect for its customers? Employees here don't know any respect. My wife and I ordered dinner for the family on the app with our last $30. The app changed our location, however upon asking if it could be switched the employee replies no, cancel it and reorder from here. 1-7 days for a refund to be issued, of course I got upset and drove off. Called family in PA to lend me money for dinner. We reoder, as I come to the first window this rude african american employee gets cocky again. I requested my reciept, "Reciept, please." The employee decides to WOW me, then proceeds to go to the 2nd window and talk about me. I call the store and the manager refused to listen to a word I said. Instead she proceeds to hold my food hostage and yell at me like I am her child. Go to any other McDonald's besides this one. Every nightshift is like this. RUDE! Not to mention, there was hair and what looked like spit in our food. Calling corporate...
