Jawbone Park
Jawbone Park is a nice place to visit during the day, but unfortunately, it changes after sunset. Despite the police station being nearby, drifters and troublemakers often gather there. Itâs a real shame because my wife and I enjoy getting ice cream and walking around the area. However, we now have to carefully choose our times or avoid it altogether.
Just the other day, we encountered a man yelling loudly at no one in particular, and another person rummaging through the trash cans. While I understand that some people have nowhere else to go and need help, others have made their choices. As hardworking individuals who take care of our homes and families, we shouldnât have to endure this in our small town.
Buckhannon really needs to address this issue. I hope this message catches the attention of local officials. I would love to see our town regain its charm, where American families can walk around safely with their kids and pets. I used to proudly tell people that I lived in one of the best towns in America.    Read moreLove it! Needs more public parking though. Beautiful, clean and lots of events throughout the year for all ages. Of course the flowers are amazing, the time and effort put into their maintenance is very evident. The painted windows on the store fronts for every holiday gives Buckhannon a homer inviting atmosphere. I have little ones and the parks are spotless.
