We were in the area to visit peddlers village which happened to be very crowded like usual during the holidays and decided to find a restaurant offsite and within a few miles of there. Saw the Google reviews and pictures and decided to give it a try. For starters, when you see the name " bar and grill" or " pub and grill" in the name of the place you don't really know until you get there what is the real identity of the establishment. When we pulled into the lot you kinda got the " bar" theme right away since both entry doors had no windows. I personally hate that because almost always when you walk in right away everyone turns around and looks at you especially if you aren't a regular. This did happen but not to the point where we were turned off. Everyone who was standing around said" hello". It was full because the live band was about 20 minutes from starting their gig. You aren't greeted at the door so you have to walk past the big bar area to see someone who will seat you. There's not a lot of seating so you might have to wait. We were seated right near the band and it wasn't extremely loud like some places so it was doable. The people who were seated near us were very lively but very fun which added to the great experience. I only gave a 3 star rating for the atmosphere because of the "no window" thing which I know is petty and it's my personal opinion but also the furniture and decor needs an overhaul. Now what was a 4 star and 5 star respectively was the service and food. The staff and the band were very friendly and then there was the food. Oh my word, it was delicious. Our table had a cheese steak, Wyck dip sandwich, and two different burgers. The size of the sandwiches were very big and very tasty. The house made chips were a little bit overdone but still good. We had the cheese curds for the appetizer and that didn't disappoint either. Overall I gave this place a 5 star and would...

Unfortunately updating the review again: We lived this place but today we went in and it’s turning into less of a local place and more of a bougie wannabe upscale place and the prices are up and the menu is dismal no more early bird specials except for Monday to Thursday for 2 hours? I know prices have gone up but 22.00 for fried chicken is insane. So sad. This was our go to place for the last decade. Unfortunately they’ve priced us out and it’s disappointing. Service was still great!

Updating review- the manager was supportive and understanding with our concerns and we’ve been continuing to come and enjoy. We also take out of town guests here and they love it. Meant to update the review a bit ago, and didn’t but we love Candlewyck. Management makes the difference. 😊

We drive from NJ which takes a good hour, always come on Saturday for the specials. Well today we get there the special is now Sunday. I ask to speak to a manager because the only reason we drive was for a celebration and the special. The manager isn't in "she comes at peak, like 30 mins from now" it was 5 pm. No substitute was offered just a "sorry" and shrug. And a quip about " well, it's on our Facebook page" which it wasn't, I check everytime for changes because we do drive over an hour. We also recieved a dirty look when we said we were leaving because 1. Lack of service and professionalism and 2. Attitude from waitress. You've lost long time customers. Been coming here for years. No more. Prior to this I've rated...

I am appalled by the treatment I received when I brought my service dog in and they refused to serve me! Which is a violation of my rights as someone who is disabled.

The server who approached me was so abrasive and rude, who questioned me regarding my service dog.

I am going to report this to the disability rights of Pennsylvania!

This establishment is definitely not worth the visit. The food is Never prepared properly and it seems like they overserved the people at the bar.

I would like to contact also the Health board to do an inspection of their kitchen and also have the police notified of the patrons at the bar leaving and driving impaired.

I received a response from the new ownership one month after my visit and they said they absolutely do allow service animals.

This is not true because that was the new ownership at the time of my visit and they wanted me to show paperwork which is in violation of the disability acts!

I am just sending this out to any future people who would consider even dining at the establishment because I will never go there again!

And I hope people who understand how important it is when you need a service animal would also...

The Wyck is a neighborhood favorite. Whether you’re craving a juicy burger, crispy fried chicken, or a fresh pizza this place delivers comfort food at its finest. The menu has familiar favorites, all executed with a level of care and flavor that sets The Wyck apart from your typical bar and grill. Beyond the food, the service at The Wyck is consistently top-notch. Staff are attentive without being overbearing, and they manage to keep things running smoothly even on busy nights. You get the sense that everyone working there actually enjoys what they do. The new owners clearly put a lot of thought and energy into creating a welcoming, quality-driven restaurant that people want to come back to. From the upgraded menu to the cozy yet vibrant atmosphere, The Wyck is a testament to what happens when people truly care about good food, great service, and their community.

The Candlewyck in Buckingham is everything you want in a neighborhood bar—warm, welcoming, and reliably delicious. Their comfort food hits the spot every time, whether you’re digging into crispy fried chicken, juicy burgers, loaded wings, or one of their signature pizzas. The vibe is relaxed, the drinks are cold, and it’s the kind of place where you can unwind after work or gather with friends for a fun night out. The new owners have really elevated the experience, bringing fresh energy and genuine hospitality to the table. They’re attentive, friendly, and clearly care about the community and their guests. You can feel the difference in the service and the small touches that make you want to keep coming back. The Candlewyck is quickly becoming the best restaurant in Buckingham!
