As I was washing my comforter at the Laundromat nearby, I did a search for "breakfast near me" and Anchor House came up. I decided to check it out.

Am I glad I did!

This place has SO much charm. The main area is a wide open space and the bar is inviting. As I looked around, I noticed the little bar nook near the entrance where you can pull up and enjoy your coffee and breakfast/lunch whist working on your laptop. Further back there is a small reading room for a couple people to chat or for one person to just sit and do, well, whatever. Even further back is a large area that would be suitable for a large group or just many individuals to get together. Also, the roaster is visible back there which, I must admit, is pretty cool to gander at.

I enjoyed my cold foam latte with a drizzle of honey and it was delicious! I also had a chorizo breakfast burrito which was delicious. If only the chorizo was homemade, that would've been over the top.

If you've never been here, whether you're a local or a visitor, I highly recommend this cute little cafe. It's an...

An absolute gem of a coffee place. This place is so beautiful, and the atmosphere is the perfect aesthetic for all coffee drinkers, pastry lovers, and book enjoyers. There are lots of good spots here too for good selfie photo ops or with friends! We ordered two different kids of breakfast sandwiches, one was a chipotle type, and the other had apple in it. Both were sooo yummy. Even my toddler enjoyed them. Their taste was unique was delicious. Their double chocolate (vegan!) and peanut butter cookies were to die for. My toddler really liked her chocolate milk with whip cream. I ordered a hibiscus tea which was okay, but I’m typically not a tea drinker so that’s probably why. But I definitely recommend this place, and plan to come back. The service was friendly and added to the atmosphere. I loved the classical type of music they had playing. They have two bathrooms and both were clean and decent size. Parking is just off the...

2025 update now that I have a kid! Stroller entrance is in the back to avoid 2 steps. The music is great and staff friendly as usual!

Burritos are a must try and are so similar to Texas breakfast tacos!!! I liked the bacon better than the chorizo.

Great selection of beans.

Food/Drink quality for price: fantastic!

Atmosphere: very bright, clean cut and open

Noise level: not bad, the music covers up conversations

Lighting: bright chandeliers

Staff: super friendly and helpful

Cleanliness: yes!

Bathroom (unisex): great

Indoor Seating: large sectional couch, another couch in a small side room, several tables of varying sizes

Outlets: there, but not everywhere

WiFi: yes

Car parking: 2 hour on main st. and more typical spots round back/to the side

Pedestrian accessibility: great sidewalks and...

I was driving through town and am always looking for a good cup of coffee, this place was so much more. Coffee, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, great staff, but more importantly they have a cool purpose to give a percentage of their income to Love Justice to support Orphans and Human Trafficking. Look into it and consider donating a few bucks out of your Venmo Account. It will help a child a lot more than that extra espresso shot will help you! Please look into Love Justice and think about how amazing your life is here in America vs. How it could be. Share some of wealth (yes, even if you are "broke", but are reading this review, you probably need to reconsider your predicament). Also, the prices here are very reasonable vs. The alternatives. (And they add more shots, which may or may not.be needed).

MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm You know what helps make a coffee taste good? When the people making it use great beans and love what they are doing. Stopped into this gem while passing through town. Honestly, had to use the restroom and wasn't really LOOKING for a coffee. Ended up hanging around enjoying my coffee for about half an hour 😊. Talked with the owners who are incredibly kind and so fun to talk to. This is a place one would go for a friendly smile and quick chat and an out of this world coffee experience. The building itself is worth stopping by, there's a small library nook to sit and enjoy your joe in, or a beautiful long couch up front. Next time I'm in Washington I'll try and stop by for sure.
