Praxis Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Buda

Update: After seeing the response from Praxis, I changed my review to one star. Here’s why:

First, the only reason I know about Praxis is because the truck is parked at Lustre Pearl (great place, btw).

The last two times I was there, I noticed an interesting coffee trailer with a sign that said they were open from 8a–3p.

Today I was craving a cappuccino and excitedly thought of Praxis, which is much closer to my house than any other legit coffee shop in Austin.

Arrived at 1:33 to find a closed-up trailer 😔

The reason I even knew about you is because of your sign at Lustre Pearl.

I got on Google to leave a review and saw your hours after the fact.

Your website says you are open until 3pm as well.

You have a legit coffee shop that we started to love, but this response is just rude.

It’s not my job to check every source online to see when you close.

Will be going back to Radio now. They are never rude to us there.

Original review: a great coffee place - they know what they are doing with their beverages. Giving this 4 star only because their sign still says that it’s open until 3pm. Seth is an amazing owner dedicated to providing you with nothing but top notch quality coffee and customer service! A true coffee lover who’s products speaks nothing but volumes. It is so satisfyingly pleasing to know there’s a local coffee business who takes pride in their service and products. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, off this menu is even close to mediocre. Praxis Coffee Roasters has set a new standard in coffee and not just in the small business category. Praxis can definitely give Starbucks, dunkin’, etc a true, hard run for their money! If you’re looking for a simple pour over with nothing but flavor or a nice concoction of lattes, this is definitely the place to stop by. Whether you’re an Austin native, a newbie, corporate business coffee lover, or local business coffee lover, Praxis should be your new Go-To choice for your daily dose of caffeine.

Ohh Praxis. 💛 Seth & Lauren are the real deal. So knowledgeable and consistent in bringing that good good ☕️ (both beans and brews) and also just really wonderful and caring human beings, which is equally important.

Exhibit A: Our first Praxis Coffee experience was the day our son was born. We’d recently moved into the neighborhood and kept passing the truck and saying we needed to stop by and try it. That day, on his way back to the hospital I told my husband all I wanted was a gooood coffee and Praxis was on the way, so he stopped. He told them where he was headed, and they gave us our coffees for free as a congratulations. 😭 It was a happy introduction to our favorite local coffee spot, which we have now visited far more times than I care to admit.

We just moved further south, and I’m not joking when I say the saddest part of our move is that it means Praxis isn’t a short drive away. We’ll still be making our appearances though! Thought it was time I finally write this long overdue review. Thanks Seth & Lauren, y’all...
