My friend I visited on 7/11/25, drinks were good. We sat on the patio, our server (who we later found out it was the manager) took our food order. We waited over an hour, nobody came to check on us and then we noticed our server got in his car and left. It was about another 15 minutes before someone else came to check on us and asked us if we wanted to order any appetizers. To which we said we already put in an order with our server . And she said with who? We said the guy who just drove away in the ford bronco. Our server said oh that was the manager he can be kind of spacey, he most likely did not put in your order. So she said she would go put in our order (pasta primavera and the special which was Alfredo penne with grilled salmon) because the kitchen was about to close in 10 minutes. We got our food about 20 minutes later and the Alfredo penne with grilled salmon had no salmon and hardly any sauce (see picture). We did not eat the special because we wanted to show our server it was missing the salmon. Our new server was nowhere to be found, we sat waiting for another 20 minutes. We decided to go up to the bar to settle the check and the bartender couldn’t find our table or order in the system. Our new server came out from the back after what was now 30 minutes to help the bartender figure out what was going on with our check. But then she proceeded to hand us a bill with someone else’s drinks on it, we told her that was not our order. Finally, she put in our order correctly and she did comp the penne with grilled salmon. Overall it seemed like everyone was not sober. Because every interaction was just incredibly odd on top of all the mishaps. At least the drinks were good.

I rented out the front area for my birthday party and I couldn’t have asked for a better time! The service was amazing, the bar was decorated beautifully and food and drinks were delicious! They even allowed me to have a specialty cocktail. We were able to come in advance to drop off some decorations I wanted to put out and we got to try the cocktail beforehand too. There were different party packages to choose from which I appreciated as well. I live nearby so I’ve been in to visit many times and I’ve always had a good experience so I knew I was making a good choice trusting them for my party. I would recommend Ciao to anyone! 🩷

Been here a few times and never had a bad experience. This time I had a dish that was called baked brie. It was baked Brie covered in crispy prosciutto, with a side of jam and crustinis. I believe it said hot hunny on the menu too but I didn't taste that part, it was delicious. Yesterday happened to be extremely busy, but with the warm weather coming around that is to be expected on Hertel. Another bartender probably would have heightened the experience. Otherwise, cozy and comfortable environment. Even with the lack of help, the ladies did an excellent job.

Edit: They finally found their footing and it's a great place to go! Their cocktails are pretty good and not super overpriced. Would recommend!

Previously had this at 5 stars, but the past 2 or 3 times going have just made me not enjoy this place anymore.

First off, this is allegedly a cocktail bar. But their cocktail menu is small and it seems as if only one of the two bartenders ever know how to make the cocktail, so your waiting for awhile, even if it's not busy.

To go with the comment above, my most recent experience was going in at 11:30 on a Friday night (they close at 1am), and trying to order a cocktail. Before we ordered, she said they were slammed earlier but clearly the rush was over with as there weren't many people there. I guess the bartender was just tired of doing their job so she said "We are no longer doing cocktails".... literally the word on the window. It's as if Chick-fil-A said they were no longer doing chicken because they were tired from the dinner rush.

I understand it was busy earlier, but it clearly wasn't then and there was basically no one there. We weren't even trying to order crazy cocktails. Just stuff I could even make. But it was pretty much beer, drinks neat, or tonics. Insane.

This place has so much potential (great atmosphere, great food) but their bartenders/cocktail menu are holding them back. If you want good cocktails where they'll never say no and taste just as good if not better, go down the street to Lloyd's. You...

For starters, our bartender/server was great. The food though, terrible. My sandwich was the best thing. More bread than fillings though. Olive bowl wasnt great. Plenty of olives but low quality and all the same type. Wifes salad (beet) was ordered with a chicken cutlet. Came without. Then found out only grilled available. Smother in chopped up onions (which wasnt on the list of ingredients). Supposed goat cheese was likely ricotta. Poor taste as well. Basically inedible. The ricotta/pistachio app that was ordered to at least have something to eat was bland and honestly boring. Drinks were ok. Honestly, management isnt training the kitchen staff. If they are, then staff needs oversight. Saw no management on-site. Any other restaurant with this bad of an issue would have a manager on it immediately. Not here. Bartender did her best but truthfully when you do a lot of specialty drinks, one bartender even on a sunday afternoon is going to be fairly overwhelmed especially when they seem to be the waitress/server for the entire place. A very nice looking place though. Too bad about the food. When it closes i wont be...
