If it were possible to grant this establishment six stars, I would without hesitation! This restaurant is a living breathing example as to why we all need to support our local businesses. From the courteous nature and kindness of the girl that works up front all the way to after they close and their ritualistic cleaning routines, and everything in between, in my eyes they are at the diamond level of business! They're not bougie about their decor, they're very homegrown, and very supportive of their city. I love this restaurant! When my birthday came around, they took care of me. And not just with like a free fountain soda... They actually gave me a gift. For no other reason than being a loyal customer who patronizes their business more than three times a month. That was it! No strings attached. And anyone who has anything derogatory to say about this restaurant... The only thing I could possibly imagine someone saying in a negative sense is that MAYBE some freak accident occurred where a pizza was in the oven for maybe a little bit longer than it should have or maybe it took a little too long for the food to get to the delivery spot and it was a little on the cold side... In the real world, stuff happens... NO ONE bats 1,000 EVERY season. But, anything else? And you're lying. I have read over 20 of the reviews that have been left for this restaurant... Specifically looking at the low rated reviews because it just didn't compute with me what anybody could possibly say negatively about this restaurant. And you know what I found? Those of you who trashed this place are nothing more than a bunch of whining, crying, sniveling, entitled, little babies. And just because everything didn't go exactly the way you wanted it, you decided to actually HURT a locally owned business by leaving a negative review. I mean, do you people have any idea how much it damages a restaurant to get a one-star review? Just one? So to all of you that left unnecessary negative reviews instead of just taking it up with the sweethearts that own this place, I say you should be ashamed of yourselves. And to the owners of Fry amici, and to you, front counter girl, You know who you are... You guys are amazing! Keep it up! And most importantly... Thanks for being there in my neighborhood. Oh and one more thing... You show me one other restaurant within a 10 mi radius that's cool with their customers bringing their dog in. And that's all I got to...
Read moreThanks to my daughter wanting to try a new Italian restaurant and the convenience of delivery, I had the pleasure of trying Fra Amici. If you haven't tried them yet I recommend you give them a try the next time you're in the mood for some pasta.
While reading the online menu I thought sure this was a traditional sit down mom and pop Italian spot. I had no idea it was your traditional Buffalo pizza joint.
Our dinners arrived hot and well organized inside a large pizza box. The order consisted of baked lasagna, fettuccine alfredo w/ chicken, my combo that had stuffed shells, lasnage, and chicken parm, and a large tossed salad & garlic knots.
The large salad was a nice size and enough for three. It was fresh with some good romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and cucumbers. Their food is of good quality so I was surprised to see store bought dressing, however, it was still good.
THE COMBO. I absolutely crushed the stuffed shells!! Filled with a nice amount of cheese and covered in a tasty marinara sauce and melted mozzarella. I plan on getting those in a full dinner in the future.
The lasagna was well balanced with the ratios of meet, cheese, and sauce. The sauce was a bit thinner than what we're used to, but I also thought it was tastier than what we're used to. I would definitely get this again.
The chicken parm was pretty good. I prefer this in a combo being that I don't order this like I used to. The chicken was cooked good, and the marinara and cheese brought it all together.
My daughter has her preferences when it comes to fettuccine alfredo, but just because you like something a specific way doesn't mean the restaurant makes it the wrong way. With that said, she has a pretty good palette and knows good food so I can take her for her word. She likes a thicker sauce and thought the dish could use more garlic and cheese.
So in summary the food was very good, and we plan on ordering from them again. Next time, instead of delivery I might just drive across town and pick it...
