TL;DR: Service is nonexistent, wait times are astronomical, no apologies when things are messed up. If your craving Starbucks and must use this store, 1st of all go through the drive through and 2nd, good luck.
We visited this location on a Saturday morning around 9:15 way to some weekend fun in Clayton with our two friends and our 3 kids. Drive Thru was wrapped around the building, so our friend decided to go in and get their order and we followed suit. I personally stayed in the car with my kids. Having been to several Starbucks, my expectation is that they have a dedicated team for drive thru and one for inside. At this location, they seem to hire a different level of employee for the inside as they do for the drive thru. I watched them go through at least two complete wrap arounds of an estimated 25-30 cars in the drive thru as my wife and my friends wife sat inside still waited inside for their order. We didn’t leave this location until around 10:30 am, delaying many of our days plans
They were more than patient, waiting until 10-15 minutes after their order to start inquiring what was taking so long. When they did finally inquire as to the status of their order, they got two separate answers. One: Oh yeah it’s coming… let me check on it for you. In which the employee would go towards the back and then return without said update and go about their business. The second and more insulting: “Oh we said your name once before your order was ready to check if you were still here and when we didn’t hear a response we skipped your order.” Ha, the hilarious thing was both my wife and our friend heard one of them say her name under his breath without a drink in his hand or being at the delivery area. They had no answer for why her drink order(placed right before my wife’s) was not ready. But they could sure get the mobile order of the person who took my parking place when I left for a less chaotic spot in 5 minutes.
There was no apology, just excuses. They got their food items long before drinks, which there is no reason to have the discrepancy. The type of food at Starbucks HAS to be warm. Otherwise it tastes like the frozen food it is. So since we waited for our drinks to eat the food once we all got back to the car, they were stone cold. To add to the debacle, all 4 drinks had something wrong with them. They weren’t awful, but when I wait an hour and half for a quick coffee, it’s never going to taste that good. This is never gonna be worth that much of a wait.
I work in Automotive ‘Retail’ and realize that mistakes can be made, but this was an ABSOLUTE lack of caring and organization that I would guess started with management. No apology for mistakes, no “thank you for patience” no sense of urgency. All we got was placing blame on others and an “oh well attitude.” This wasn’t the response of some honest hard workers who made a mistake…. It was that of a group of workers who should never work retail again.
I highly recommend everyone avoid this location until corporate comes in and either shuts it down or retrains the entire staff on service experience, urgency, and...
Read moreThis Starbucks is fine. Unfortunately as you can see from every review that is less than 5 stars, there is a chance you'll be within range of the worst type of Starbucks customer if you come to this location. Listen up you entitled hackjobs. You're not happy with how fast you got your overpriced caffeine fix? Get a Keurig and make your own. Honestly, how you can get in a drive thru line that has like 15 cars in it, and expect that you're going to get fast service? You're not. Deal with it or go down the street to the Quick Trip and serve yourself. They're building a new Dunkin' less than a quarter mile from this Starbucks so if you aren't happy with the speed of the service, start going there once it opens. You may not get the prestige of showing up at your stupid hot-yoga class with a Starbucks cup, but at least you may be satisfied with how quickly you get your brown bitterwater. As for the lot of you who have been critical of your specific beverage flavor or consistency, again, get a Keurig or a fancy 'spresso machine and make your own if you don't like it. Your stupid drink order is far too complex to get exactly the same every time. Also, have you ever considered that you may have been fooled by big marketing to think that since it is Starbucks it means the product will be anything other than mediocre? You know who you people who have complained sound like? You sound like Squidward from Spongebob Squarepants. Seriously, I want you to go back and read your bad review, but sound it out in Squidward's voice and tell me if it doesn't feel exactly like the kind of thing he would say and do. You're probably the same people that hit the McD's down the road from this Starbucks and make some kind of stupid edit to every entree item you order, at peak busy hour, in a very confusing manner, and then get riled up when one of the fourteen things you custom ordered comes out wrong. You know you do, don't act like you don't. This Starbucks is fine. People who have never been to this location, don't let the few bad reviews on here shape your opinion. Anyone who steps foot inside or goes to the drivethru to order overpriced overmarketed coffee may or may not have a satisfactory experience. There are a lot of factors that contribute to this, and an important one is your expectation level. If you go here and it's busy, you'r going to wait a long time for something that may seem incredible simple (to you) to prepare. If you go here and your drink doesn't taste exactly the same as last time, its most likely because the chances of consistency are directly proportional to the complexity of your order. Remember, by being a Squidward, the day you are most likely ruining will be your own. Don't be...
Read moreIf I could give I this place 0 stars, I would. I ordered on Friday morning using the app. My husband went to pick it up. He let them know of my order at the drive thru. When he arrived at the drive thru, he was handed the hot food portion of the order and asked if I had ordered drinks as well. He told them yes. They asked him to pull ahead and wait. He watched 11 cars receive their orders while sitting. We called in to ask about the situation and explained that my husband had to leave. We were told they had forgotten that he was there and about the drinks. The hot food was cold by this time and the drinks had just been sitting. This process took 30 minutes and caused my husband to be late to his appointment. He was told no one there at the time could help with the situation and to call that afternoon to speak to a manager. My husband called back in and spoke with Jordan. Jordan was very understanding of the situation and said he would compensate us on our next visit. Flash forward to today (Sunday 11/14), we arrived at the location around 10:50. We placed our order and arrived at the drive thru window. We explained to the employee that Jordan said our visit would be compensated due to the past experience. She left and TJ (day time manager) arrived. He was very rude from the beginning. He said he would comp the drinks, but not the food and we would need to pay for it. We explained that we had spoken with Jordan. He said, “I didn’t tell you that. Jordan did. He shouldn’t have told you that. I’m telling you I can’t do anything. You can pay for the food.” We’ve now been in line for over 20 minutes. He keeps going on about how Jordan messed up. TJ exhibits zero level of professionalism. He clearly showed his annoyance with us throughout the entire process. TJ said he would just refund our previous visit. When we asked for a number to corporate, he abruptly told us we can go look it up online ourselves. When we asked for the store manager’s name and when we could reach her, he said “She makes her own schedule. I have no idea when she works.” I expect more out of Starbucks. The level of unprofessionalism exhibited in our experience is unacceptable. TJ could benefit from training on professionalism...
