Since moving to Gainesville I've tried a number of Chinese restaurants, but Chef Wangs is the one that I always come back to. While the decor may look a little outdated, they offer great deals on their lunch specials and the food is always great. If you love Chinese food and haven't tried Chef Wangs, I highly recommend giving it a try. It's my favorite Chinese spot in Gainesville.
Also, I wouldn't put much merit in all of the one star reviews. I have eaten here and ordered take out well over 20 times since moving to Gainesville and I have never ever had an issue or gotten the wrong order. I'm sure the staff here does make the occasional mistake, but I don't think that's normal...
Read moremy co worker and I ordered food from here on 12/27/15 and had it delivered at our hotel where we work in the front office. The delivery guy in glasses was extremely rude when he delivered our food! My co worker asked which receipt was whos and the guy jerked the receipts from her and moved them to his side of the counter and slammed her receipt in front of her. My co worker got upset and told him that was VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! We did not tip him and then followed by calling the restaurant and telling the lady how unprofessional he was and all she would say was yes yes yes no I"M SORRY OR ANYTHING!!!! Read moreTerrible. I ordered chicken fried rice and chicken in broccoli. The chicken in the rice was so terrible I couldn't even eat it. I have no idea what it even was, fat rolled in batter? Just disgusting, it disintegrated when I put my fork in it. The broccoli dish was swimming in cheap cooking oil, all I could taste was grease and salt and it left a greasy film inside my mouth.
