I’m sad that I have to update from review from 5 stars to 1 star based on a horrible negative experience I had in October 2023. I have waited to post this review until now, December 2023 because I was so hurt and emotional about how I was treated and I wanted to make sure I had a clear head.
As you read this review I want you to understand that I have followed this family owned restaurant around and have recommended them to A LOT of people. The owner(s) (I believe 2 brothers) spent 30 years of their lives building a business for their family only for their children / grandchildren to destroy it!
The whole issue is centered around the fact that their young disrespectful teenage daughter or granddaughter entered my order incorrectly. I always get the same exact food every time I go, so I know exactly what I want. She was too busy with her cell phone and nails to care about getting my order correct. Anyway, when my to-go order was handed to me, I inspected it and confirmed that it was in fact, incorrect. I nicely let her know that she gave me someone else’s order because that wasn’t what I ordered. She didn’t reply, she just walked away and returned with her dad/grandfather/uncle not sure of the relationship. He rudely asked me what was the problem (while she stood there). I politely explained there was no problem and that I thought I was given someone else’s order. I told him what I ordered and that wasn’t it. I asked him why he was being rude to me. He replied “because this is what you ordered”. I explained that I always order the exact same food the exact same way every time I come in and due to dietary restrictions I would never order what she handed me. Nevertheless I told him what I ordered and explained how I know 100% for sure that she wasn’t paying attention when she entered my order because of the requests I made about the side items that come with my order that do not come with what she handed me. All of this time, she stood there and never admitted she was wrong nor did she apologize. Even that was okay…I told the owner that I would pay again to cover the corrected order. I offered to do this because I didn’t want them to lose money AND I figured I would give the incorrect food order to the security guard at my marina…he eats everything & always appreciates when I bring food & snacks. She (the immature teenager who took my original order) snatched the bag and said “I don’t have time for this” and stomped away. I was absolutely shocked and appalled. I still had on my professional business attire (I add this detail because I want you to know that I’m a business professional AND even if I wasn’t…no customer should be disrespected the way I was). I was still very calm and spoke with a low clear voice. I just wanted the food I ordered. I simply wanted to get dinner and go relax on my boat AND start my weekend. Do you know how many good Mexican restaurants I drive by on my way to that restaurant as I drove from my office that day??? A LOT! I consciously decided that I would stop at La Cazuela to spend my money to support their small business. It’s sad that after all of these years they let that disrespectful brat of theirs cause them to lose a loyal customer! They are to blame too because they weren’t nice either and they didn’t correct her behavior.
I want you to know that I’m a reasonable person and I don’t get offended easily, but I felt so disrespected that day. I was holding back tears as I sat there quietly waiting on the corrected order. When I got to my car I cried so hard. I had to pull myself together to see straight to drive. I put the food in the trash at the nearby gas station because I refuse to eat food that has negative energy attached to it. It was a horrible experience that I will never forget.
I’m sure I’m not the only customer they’ve lost because since the pandemic the place barely had any customers when I would go there (which is why I always made a special effort to support them). It used to be a busy happy place. It’s sad to see it die...
Read moreSo disappointed in this place today. We used to be regulars, now I regret going here for dinner. There was a party in the bar, therefore it took us about 10 minutes between walking in and getting a seat. The first person that greeted us literally just walked up and said "drinks?" So quickly I had to ask her to repeat herself. Dreading this being our waiter I was relieved when another girl brought us our drinks and asked to take our order. At this point we've been there for 30 minutes so we order bean dip for an appetizer and our entrées, a kids meal, a quesadilla and a combo meal. Nothing too complicated. While the entrées came out correctly, we did not receive our bean dip. We just assumed it must not have been entered. But of course, it was on the bill - dispite never receiving it. Additionally our kids meal was billed as a quesadilla and fries separately, making it about 50 cents more expensive. Then I stood by the front for another 10 minutes looking for someone to check us out. The manager came up and I informed her of the bean dip and she was a little short, but not out right rude at first. I started to mention the kids meal also and started by saying it wasn't a big deal, but she cut me off before I could finish my sentance saying "I took it off" I just stared at her and asked "the bean dip?" She said "yes, I took it off". I replied, "yes but you cut me off, I was still talking" she said "it's fine" and turned around ignoring me. I was flabbergasted. No one has ever been so overly rude.
TL;DR - DON'T BOTHER GOING HERE. GO TO CABOS FLOWERY BRANCH. BETTER...
Read moreHonestly, if there’s a way to give zero stars I would if there’s a way to put negative stars there be -5 I am a regular here have been for I would say almost 1yr about 2/3 times a month and I am a very very laid-back person I am the person to not put a negative review but today was the last straw lately the service was getting worse and worse every one has there bad days but today was absolutely not ok serving my wife uncooked chicken in a salad and when we talked to management they acted like it was normal she took it back to the kitchen and all you hear is the the staff taking it as a joke you can easily get salmonella from something like that and the cook even tryed to walk out to see who had the complaint and tucked there head and left when made eye contact please keep a close eye on your food when buying from here today was our last trip to this restaurant I wish the best luck to who ever wants to take there chances and come here it’s a super hit or Miss restaurant but for the last I would say 5 visits it was a miss I hope you guys get a food critic to get somthing like this and you get shut down until you get the correct management and cooks in the back so you can have the success that the restaurant could have great aria for a good restaurant sadly it’s just...
