EDITED: The only reason they received more than a single star was because the cake was beautifully designed, the flavors were delicious, and was delivered on time. The issues lie with the customer service which is severely lacking and has made it an unpleasant experience. In fact, we did not have a two hour appointment, because of scheduling conflicts (my husband travels and I have a two hour commute). So under these circumstance (and so close to the wedding) had to place our order at the counter on Sept. 3rd. To be fair, it was a very simple cake design and smaller cake for 30+ guests.
It began with the lack of attention we received each visit. We would have to wait over ten minutes to even flag down one of the employees behind the counter. While the young ladies that run the counter are very nice, they would rather spend their time chatting to each other rather than help out a customer. Finally, we were approached by a young lady. She was very sweet but seemed a bit clueless and wasn't able to divulge into detail about their cakes. Fortunately, we had already decided on flavor, filling, icing, and design with a picture to make this a simple process. So we hashed out the details with the young lady and placed and paid for our order. We had a couple of questions which she could not answer, so she fetched an older male employee. This man (owner, baker, or manager?) was unapologetically unpleasant and rude. At no point did he ever make eye contact and every question was met with annoyance as if we were inconveniencing him with our stupid questions.
Our cake was ordered and set to go. We requested a copy of our order. After ten minutes(and some other customers the young lady needed to attend to before making our copy), we never received our form. We asked a final time and were pretty much brushed off. We simply gave up and left, it probably would be easier to call them and confirm details closer to the wedding date (which we did).
Come our wedding day, we walk up to our table to see a single tier cake. As much as we loved our cake, this was not what we had ordered. We had the understanding that we would have a two-tiered cake which instead was a single tiered two-layered cake on the table. Whatever. We were too happy about the fact we were married.
After the wedding, we contacted the manager and we told her that there must have been a mistake: we were told it would be a two-tiered cake (which we had specifically requested). She began explaining that perhaps it was a misunderstanding from our behalf, it was documented as a two-layered, single tiered cake. She began listing off the pricing which amounted the the total we paid a bit over $200 Frankly, $200+ for a 12" single-tier two-layered cake is unreasonable (albeit, $50 from the total was for delivery). At this point, there was no point arguing with her. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding or miscommunication, but it was incredibly disappointing and was a damper on our wedding having to ration our cake to our guests.
TL;DR; The product is good; the cakes are beautiful and taste heavenly and are almost worth going through the hassle. Almost. The staff is unorganized and inattentive. The management is straight up rude (with the exception of Malinda). Our mistake was not demanding a copy of our order confirmation even after requesting...
Read moreI used to stop by here every morning and get my coffee. I stopped in today for the first time in about a year. The staff was all new faces so maybe that’s why this experience was one that left lots to be desired. Their sweets are amazing. My daughter’s birthday cake was made her last year. Their coffee and the customer service left a bad taste in not only my mouth but my sisters as well. I ordered a double shot of espresso and was handed a cup half way full of (possibly) espresso. I drink espresso regularly so I was concerned as to what I was about to consume. WhenI went to post I noticed I wasn’t charged. The cashier called another employee over to adjust my receipt for payment. This is the momentI realized something was in my cup that didn’t look like espresso. I showed the lady and she said it is espresso. I looked at her kinda puzzled and asked her if she drinks espresso. She replied yes with discontent said something to the cashier and walked away. My sister ordered a vanilla latte or something along those lines. I noticed it looked darker than usual but due to the unfriendly experience with the server about the espresso we carried on. When I got my car my sister asked me if I had milk at home. She took a few more sips of her drink and was unable to proceed. It was so thick you could see it clogging the straw. To add upon walking in there was an advertisement about a “zombie cure” (something like that). It’s coffee; we asked multiple servers what it’s flavor was and they were all very kind but couldn’t tell us the flavor. I genuinely hope this experience was due to new hires and their lack of barista knowledge. I would also like to mention that when someone is dealing with the public they should be informed that when a consumer is requesting additional information about what they are purchasing to consume in their body it’s not a time to take things personal; It is an opportunity to give...
