Wow! Ok we are here visiting from Australia and these donuts were absolutely unreal. Like nothing I have ever had in Australia. So I thought ok maybe LA donuts are just next level like that but no, we went to two other well known and lived donut shops in LA and they did not compare to the ones I got from donut hut. These are really special. I got an apple fritter and vanilla crueller and I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve thought about them every day since. We have another quick stop in LA before we go home in a few weeks and I’m plan to come right back here. The textures were just so impeccably executed. Perfect crisp and crunch on the apple fritter with the softest melty inside. Very well balanced cinnamon flavour and sweetness, lots of apple chunks. The crueller was ridiculous. It literally just melted away in your mouth and had the perfect flavour profile. Truly...
Read moreBurbank has plenty of doughnut shops – both mom & pop and corporate – but in my estimation there are two that top the list for quality: Doughnut Hut and Donut Prince. Doughnut Hut sells all the normal stuff that you’d expect from a doughnut shop only they turn out a better quality product than the others. If you want something fancier than a cruller, twist, or glazed they’ve got you covered, too. Doughnut Hut is a freestanding walk-up shop; you order and receive your order through a window. They have a couple of tables and chairs but it’s really basic stuff. They have their own parking lot and some street parking. At peak times it can be hard to park, but most times it’s not an issue. The business is cash only and they have an ATM near the order window. I recommend the chocolate bar filled with chocolate and topped with...
Read moreI've been spreading the news by word of mouth for years now, but let me put metaphorical pen to paper to let you all know that these are the best donuts in town. This little shack is always stuffed to the brim with donuts, and I've never had one that seemed stale. Even at the strangest times of day, there will be a person or two ordering, so they seem to move product fast enough that nothing gets a change to get old.
Even though there's frequently a line of one or two people, the wait has never been more than a few minutes for me, and I don't mind waiting at all. If anything, it gives me time to look in the window and decide what I want to treat myself to today. A word to the wise: this place is cash only, so visit an ATM first or you'll have to pay a fee to use the one on site.
