The 2 stars is for the overpriced $25 2 meat Lunch special. The $25 Lunch special only gives you 3 small pieces of each meat that was selected which was not mentioned on the menu. When the plate of meat came out, I asked the waiter if we can change our order to the $55 - All you can eat option.
He asked his manager, and the manager said we can only change it to the $75 Premium All you can eat option. This sounded a little sketchy/greedy for a new business that was empty at lunch time. It was not a good first impression for the only customer in the restaurant at the time during Friday lunch hour. I kindly declined the offer and stuck with our overpriced lunch special. The waiter than said you can try the $55 all you can eat next time. I highly doubt I will be returning customer even though I live in the area.
Maybe my review rating would have been different if the manager understood that being a first-time customer and not being familiar with lunch special portion offering and allow us to switch and try the higher priced $55 All you can eat. That would have made me think this business wanted to establish a returning customer base, especially for residents in the area.
Unfortunately, this didn't happen. The little meat we had was okay. The shishato peppers we order was also average.
The only bright side was that our waiter was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and new.
Good luck finding street parking.
Lot more better options in the area...
Read moreThis Resturant endangered and nearly injured my newborn son.
Do not trust your children and family here.
With my newborn son in tow, we entered this restaurant excited to enjoy a rare night out. As soon as we sat down the server dropped a tray full of glasses across our table. Shards of glass went flying, my shorts were ripped, my shoes, shorts and everything underneath were drenched in ice cold water.
My body filled with fear that my newborn son was hurt yet I couldn’t move because there was so much glass everywhere.
The restaurant never apologized. The manager never came out.
They completely ruined our night, nearly injured a newborn child, filled my chest with scratches, and a lot of our stuff remains damaged yet my son, while shaken in the moment, is fortunately ok.
We remained polite until they began insulting us. Then I simply said this isn’t ok and asked to speak with the manager. Instead they gave us a gift certificate and suggested we come back another time.
I will have no choice but to pursue this through...
Read moreHad an awesome birthday lunch at Oku-Niku today!
My husband took me out for some Japanese bbq & had a great time. They have an AYCE option for $55 and a premium AYCE with higher cuts of meat for $75. We decided to not do ayce bc we didn’t want to over eat due to our dinner plans later in the evening. So we ordered their 2 meat lunch option—picked the prime short rib and beef belly. It came with rice, smashed cucumber salad and miso soup for $25. Great option for those who want to have a light meal. We also added on pork jowl ($12) and their A5 Waygu ($45). We cooked them at the table just like kbbq. All the meats were melt-in-your-mouth good. I loved the sauces they provided and the lemon pepper seasoning as well. The service here was fantastic. I wish we got the name of our waitress who was so kind and very attentive! She gave me a slice of their tasty yuzu cheesecake on the house, which was so sweet and thoughtful. I recommend this place if you are looking for a tasty meal and...
