Beijing Tokyo — Restaurant in Burke

I originally moved to Burke in 2009 and although I never imagined getting sushi and chinese food from the same place, Beijing Tokyo was a pleasant suprise. I was very happy with their offerings for years but things started to change in the past year. It seems alot of restaurants are under economic pressure to either shrinkflate, cut corners on quality, outright raise prices or do some combination of these. Im not sure whats going on at BT exactly but about 6 months ago I received a sushi order that would be my last. The food just did not have the same freshness and quality it once did; the maguro/tuna in my sushi regular was inedible; smelly, and tasted like it had already begun to foul. Never again; there is a newer sushi spot, Sakura, a mile away which is absolutely excellent.

I continued to order chinese here the past 6 months with no issues until my most recent order. The meat in the beef n broccoli was now fatty and spongy in texture whereas it had always been good quality prior. I will say the house wonton special soup is still great. Unfortunately it is time to find a new chinese...

Not sure why this place has good reviews. The Kung Pao chicken was so disgusting that no one ate it. It was like nothing I’ve ever see or tasted before.

Although the General Tso's chicken is made with white meat it was DRY and to compensate they drenched it in sauce which did nothing to flavor it since it’s “lightly battered”. I pushed it aside for someone else to grab and I decided to just eat my egg roll.

To add insult to injury there was a bite on it!! Apparently someone else returned it after taking a bite and the staff didn’t notice and placed it in my bag. I admit I was disgusted and livid, so I called the place to let them know. The “manager” got on the phone to apologize and offered to give a discount or another roll. I asked them to just reimburse me for the egg roll, not the whole order just the egg roll. Nope they “couldn’t do it”.

This is the reason for the review. I wasn’t trying to take advantage by asking for a full refund although maybe I should have. I just wanted that one egg roll cost refunded. Not about the money, but the principle of it. Do...

I really enjoyed the sushi and the general tso's chicken that I got from here. I did find it a bit hypocritical, that on their door sign they say that mask are required, but when I came in to pick up my order I clearly saw a couple of the kitchen staff resting at the tables without any masks on. This is not a big deal to me, but for other this might be a point of issue. However, the woman who I paid for my order was wearing a mask. All in all, the reason I'm not giving it five stars is mainly because I preference real authentic ginger versus the died pink color ginger that is used.
