"A Truly Unforgettable Experience (Not in a Good Way)"
Ah, where do I begin? From the moment I walked into this Indian restaurant, I was taken aback. The ambiance was, admittedly, pretty good. It almost made me hopeful for the meal ahead. Almost. But then, our waiter appeared â the beacon of customer service, oozing with charm (not really).
When I asked for a recommendation, he suggested the achari paneer. Intrigued, I asked if it was too sour, as achaar tends to be. His response? A delightfully rude "I've never had it, so I can't tell you. But people seem to like it." Ah, the warm, inviting hospitality we all crave! Me and my friend were just thrilled by his dismissive tone â it really set the mood.
Despite this stellar start, we ordered three items: Mulligatawny soup, pav bhaji for an appetizer, and the much-anticipated lassan signature kadhai paneer with garlic naan for the main course. And wow, what a treat! The food was so bland and mediocre, it was almost impressive. Even my friend, who can barely boil water, could whip up a better kadhai paneer and pav bhaji.
Oh, and let's not forget the piĂšce de rĂ©sistance â the kadhai paneer. It didnât even look like kadhai paneer. Our waiter, in a moment of pure culinary confusion, asked us how the shahi paneer was. We were like, "It's kadhai paneer." The look on his face was priceless, like he had just discovered a new planet.
If you're an Indian person yearning for authentic flavors, consider yourself warned. This place will dash your hopes and dreams of a good meal. With prices averaging $20 to $30 per person, I'd suggest heading to Saffron Indian Cuisine on Route 7 â where the food is actually worth the money.
In summary: come for the ambiance, stay for the disappointing food and the unforgettable...

From the moment you step inside, youâre met with a sense of warmth that feels like coming home. The ambiance is elegant yet inviting, striking the perfect balance between modern comfort and cultural charm.
What truly sets Lassan apart is the love and care poured into every dish. The flavors are bold, rich, and deeply comfortingâclearly crafted by someone who respects tradition but also knows how to elevate it. The butter chicken is velvety and deeply spiced, the biryani aromatic and perfectly layered, and the garlic naan? Absolute perfectionâsoft, crispy in the right places, and addictively flavorful.
Iâve eaten at many Indian restaurants across the DMV, but Lassan is, hands down, the best Halal Indian/Desi food in the area. You can taste the freshness, the authenticity, and the attention to detail in every bite. Their mango lassi is pure sunshine in a glassâcool, creamy, and a must with every meal.
What makes the experience even more special is the hospitality. The staff are kind, attentive, and genuinely care that you have a great experience. They treat you like a guest, not just a customerâwhich in todayâs world, means everything.
Whether youâre craving something familiar or trying Indian cuisine for the first time, Lassan welcomes you with open arms and feeds you like family. Itâs a place that brings people together through food made with heartâand thatâs why itâs become my go-to and why Iâll keep...
Read moreI was really looking forward to this restaurant. Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience. I went on Valentineâs Day with my partner. We had a reservation and still had to wait to be seated. We were sat behind someone who is a popular on TikTok. I say that because when we finally got our table it took them 30 mins to take our order, they didnât even give us water while we waited. They were just constantly just checking on the tiktoker. Which, I understand but it was Valentineâs Day and we were trying to have a romantic dinner. To say the least it was anything but that. They couldâve just not sat anyone by them. We were blinded with flashes from the video and they even took our candle/ballon center piece for the TikTok video⊠The girl who took it was like âcan we take thisâ and just took it didnât even wait for a response from either of us. Donât ask if youâre gonna take it regardless lol⊠Any way, I have pretty bad social anxiety and just wanted to go somewhere nice/chill but this triggered me so bad we waited for our WATER longer than we were there. My partner was trying to get the servers attention for the check but he had to yell to even get that. Like no offense but couldnât they have done this video on a regular day that wasnât Valentineâs Day. The food was okay we had to add salt to everything the masala fries were good after we added salt but I wonât be going back again. If the food was good Iâd give it another try but it was mid and not worth that experience. I wouldnât go here for anything special...
