I placed a mobile order at the 13th & College McD's in Oak Creek, WI to be picked up at the counter as we were staying at a hotel without a vehicle. We had to walk to McDonald's to pick up our oder in a freezing cold snow storm. That location is open until 11:00 PM & I submitted the order, checked in & my account debited $15 at 10:34 PM. At 10:40 PM I pulled on the door & it was locked! No one would acknowledge my existance but I saw my order waiting on the counter.
I WALKED THERE from my hotel so my only option was to click counter pickup as walking up to the drive thru is not allowed for safety reasons & I didn't have a vehicle to get curbside pickup either. Since the staff wouldn't acknowledge me or even hand the order to me out the door & with it being FREEZING COLD OUTSIDE, I had no choice but to walk back to my hotel & call for a refund as my cell phone was left at the hotel due to the snow.so I immediately called for a refund as I couldn't get my order.
We were hungry & after what already happened, I was told I couldn't get a refund as the order & payment came through the app so I had to get a refund from the app. I asked how to do that & she didn't know how, I had to figure it out.
I didn't cause this problem, the app allowed placing the order, getting paid & giving the confirm number after 10:30PM & the drive up was still up & running, yet I had no food & McD's had my $15!
The staff member then told me they lock the doors at 10:30 & close at 11 so I should've gone to the drive up, as if I was to blame!? I said I wouldn't get served at the drive up without a car, the app took my COUNTER ORDER SELECTION & MONEY IMMEDIATELY so I should've had my order OR at a MINIMUM GET AN IMMEDIATE REFUND.
I was told if I want a refund, I'd have to do it myself through the app but she didn't no how to do it! Even if that was true, which is highly doubtful, at a minimum I should have been provided a refund through petty cash or given a fresh order delivered to me across the street as I had no way to know the lobby was closed early considering my order & money were accepted after 10:30. I was told the only way to be made whole immediately was to walk back in the snow storm & this time they would hand it to me out the door.
Common sense says...if a counter pickup order was placed through the app, prepared & put on the counter by a staff member ALL AFTER 10:30 PM, & a customer standing is at the door in a snow storm, maybe she's trying to get the prepaid food that WAS JUST PUT ON THE COUNTER 2 MINS AGO!!
I wasn't willing to wait to hash it out the following day because
Reluctantly, my husband walked over as this time someone would give him the food. FYI, it's winter in Wisconsin, & by the time we actually got the order to the hotel across the street, 20 mins later, the food was cold AND the Frapee was diluted!
The FINAL slap in the face was after all the trouble walking back & forth TWICE IN THE FREEZING COLD SNOW STORM, there was no apology...not even an order of fries or apple pie or ANYTHING added to the bag! Since there isn't a microwave in our hotel room we lost our $15 in the end & went to bed HUNGRY.
I believe that location chose to lock the lobby doors a half hour early as it was Saturday night & they didn't want to deal with walk ins so they could then leave early.
BUYER BEWARE...JUST BECAUSE YOU PLACE AN ORDER, PAY FOR IT & GET A CONFIRMATION NUMBER FOR COUNTER PICK UP, DONT EXPECT THAT THE LOBBY WILL BE OPEN TO GET YOUR ORDER EVEN THOUGH BOTH THE DRIVE UP AND CURB SIDE PATRONS ARE GETTNG THEIR PIPING HOT FOOD.
ALSO DONT EXPECT AN APOLOGY OR ANY OTHER DAMAGE CONTROL EFFORTS NOR SHOULD YOU EXPECT A REFUND OR THINK YOUR ORDER WILL BE RE-MADE SO THAT YOUR FOOD IS AT THE SAME QUALITY AS THE LINE OF CARS GETTING THEIR ORDERS AT CLOSING TIME AS YOU MAY JUST GET BLAMED AND TOLD WHAT YOU SHOULD'VE DONE AND ACCEPT EVERY ERROR NOT MADE BY YOU.
ARE YOU LOVIN' IT? WE ARE NOT LOVIN ANY...

Went to this McDonald's on a Saturday morning after a wedding. I chose to go inside and order from the kiosk. First thing that caught my attention was the kiosk said they were "out of stock" of Egg biscuits. But right next to that option, showing available, was sausage Egg biscuit. Now, how can you possibly be out of one with less ingredients but have one with more available?
When I finally placed my order, (first time using the kiosk), it took 15 minutes from the time I ordered to the time I received my order. I had a friend from the previously mentioned wedding go through the drive through AFTER I placed my order, and he was already back at the hotel before I received my food.
After the 15 minute wait, one would expect the order to be correct. It wasn't. I had ordered a meal ,an extra drink, 2 extra sandwiches and 2 extra hashbrowns. I didn't receive any hash browns. I got the attention of a lady and she gave me 2 hash browns. I corrected her saying I ordered 3. She tried arguing with me about what I ordered. I showed her the receipt and she huffed with an eye roll. Sorry for the inconvenience of wanting the food I ordered and paid for.
I normally will try to give a business a chance to redeem themselves prior to posting a negative review. I contacted McDonalds corporate who forwarded me to the GM. The GM blatantly lied to me saying he made several attempts to contact me. I have no missed contact attempts, whether it be phone, text, or e-mail. Maybe he...
Read moreI patronize this McDs a lot, and usually have no issue. Today I used mobile ordering for the 1st time. Bypass the long drive thru, right? I placed my order on their app, and when I showed up, I picked the curbside pickup. It's at that time apparently that they begin to make your food so it's fresh. But I couldn't complete and pay for my order because of no internet connection. I've had this issue before trying to use app deals through the drive thru. It's like this McDs is in a mobile dead zone, at least outside. I drove around the building trying to get a signal - nothing. I had to go to the parking lot across the street to get a signal and compete my order. Then I went back to McDs and waited. And waited. And waited. All the drive thru people who were waiting when I pulled up - gone. I saw 4 cars pull up in mobile pick up spots after me, get their orders, and leave. From the time you submit the order and pay (so you're already there) to when I got my food was 16 minutes. The app tells you roughly 5 minutes. My fries were limp and lukewarm. My Coke was either watered down, or a diet Coke, I couldn't tell which, but it was no good either way. I ordered a value meal and 20-pc mcnuggets. I didn't order a lot a food that it would take this long, and have everbody ordering after me get their food 1st. I will never use mobile pay again. There is no advantage to it at all. This visit alone would get 1 star from me, but I"m giving 3 stars because normally it's...
