Let me start by saying this has to be one of the worst places I have eaten at. Starting with the service. Very slow and very unattentive. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas and I LITERALLY drank almost the entire thing. You would think at about 20 to 30 minutes in, I would have started to feel it but nope. My wife even made a comment about this not have much if any tequila in it. So we finally get our food. My food is swimming in oil and what seemed to be water. It was starting to separate. So I stared to eat 1 of my peppers and it was luke warm and completely soggy. I really can't believe I didn't take a picture of this. I finished most of the first pepper and couldn't eat anymore. It was so bad. The rice and beans were even bad. How does that happen. So we get our bill and I am looking at and it was $68 and some change. $30 just for the pitcher of margaritas. I looked at my wife and said I have to say something. We go up to pay and I said did that pitcher of margaritas even have any tequila in it? She said yes, " a 12 count" now if that was the case, I would have never walked out of there. My wife didnt even feel any effects from alcohol. We are by no means drinkers and I consider myself a lightweight. We have had strong margaritas and that was not one of them. So I paid $30 for store bought margarita mix and some ice. Unbelievable.
If you truly want awesome authentic Mexican food with the best tasting margaritas (where 1 is all you need). Do yourself a favor and go to El Beso...
Read more2 people in our party dined in on a Saturday night at 6:30. When we walked in the place was empty except for staff, I now know why. While the food was of good quality and came out fast, the service is what gets Los Compadres it’s 2 star review. The word “service” should be used lightly as it’s basically non-existent. Throughout our meal, the server did not return once to ask how the food was or if we needed any drink refills. On a busy night, this is understandable, but being the only customers in the restaurant, it was unacceptable. I needed to get up to seek out the server who spent most of his time on his phone or in the back of the kitchen talking with the cook staff. At the end of our meal, I presented 2 coupons. One for $5 off of $25, or an alternative of 10% off our final bill. I tried to look at the bill total to determine which coupon would be a better deal. Quickly the server pulled the check away as if to conceal the total and states, “The 10% off coupon is a better savings.” Anyone who can do math knows that in order for the 10% coupon to be better, the bill would need to be over $50. Our bill was almost $10 dollars less. We will...
Read moreThere are three great Mexican restaurants in Burlington. I love all of them, however I believe this might be my favorite. It's really a tough contest because all three have great food, excellent fast service with a smile and very authentic food. I mean, man, these 3 places run so neck and neck it's very close to impossible to decide, which is a win win for this community and anyone traveling through it that loves truly authentic Mexican cuisine. I believe that this restaurant has the absolute best refried beans that can be found anywhere. I love great refried beans that have a lot of flavor. This place wins for that but additionally, they deliver on presenting three wonderful salsas. Their Mexican rice is just a little more flavorful as well. Folks, you will not be disappointed by attending any of Burlington's Mexican restaurants. The prices are wonderfully low, the food is great and the service at all of them is...
