Sheila Mae's Town Fryer — Restaurant in Burlington

I really love coming here, I had a funny conversation with the lady at the cash register regarding the sizes of soups they sell when soups are available. They do not make soups on Sunday from what I understand and the only time you can get a quart is when Sheila makes it. They typically don't sell the soup in a quart otherwise. Sheila makes really awesome soup, I took home a quart of the vegetable soup when I was in the area last year and absolutely loved it for 2 days! I got the Patty melts and fries, they're pretty good and as usual service is as service is when you're going into Sheila Mae's. They have way outgrown there current location but I have a feeling they won't move anytime soon LOL. I love all of their food however I don't understand what Burlington has going on with their water supply.. two glasses of water tasted fine but the other two tasted heavily of bleach. Keep in mind this isn't anything on the restaurant, I used to live in this town and I had the same problem. But in any case it really makes a cup of coffee not enjoyable. Now, I want to be honest with you, it's not at all up to the restaurant to buy a purification system to remove the chlorine that the stupid City put in there. But just something you may want to know about Burlington's water, has absolutely nothing to do with the restaurant. If they wanted to fix it that's entirely their prerogative. I...

Cash only - good coffee, warm and cozy vibe. At first glance, the menu is your traditional favorites, but in the quest for something different I got the "Hungry Frenchmen" - French toast topped with fluffy scrambled eggs, diced ham and mushrooms, all covered in two kinds of finely shredded cheese. It probably tasted better than it sounds, it definitely tasted better than it looked. Make no mistake - this is the kind of place that is great at everything they make. It's a busy place, but with lots of seating. I didn't have to wait for a table and didn't notice anyone else waiting, even with a steady stream of people coming in on this Saturday morning. SERVICE- the staff was very friendly and helpful~ the food came out within 15 minutes.

ATMOSPHERE- the inside is sooo lovely! Just like a classic old diner and very cozy~ perfect for family/ friend meals! It feels very calm and its not loud even when it's half full. Ill also note that they don't accept card so you'd have to pay with cash (and they do have an ATM right inside which is helpful for that).

FOOD- my friend said their hasbrowns were really good and thought their pancake decor was super cute~ my food was also super yummy and we both agreed it was very filling for the price!👍🏻
