The quality of the food is decent, but it's ruined by the astoundingly awful level of service. At my most recent visit, a tall, red headed young woman was assigned to our table. I couldn't believe how rude she was. When I asked for a menu item that they were out of, she said "we're all out" - no apology, regret, anything like that. I got total lip from her when I asked why they were out of such a popular item. She said "we don't have time to make that", in the most dismissive way possible. Instead of providing a suitable recommendation for a replacement, she felt the need to belittle us instead. I complained to the manager of our issues with how she spoke to us and the manager admitted that this server has gotten complaints before from customers in regards to how rude she is. Then why is she still working there??? If I talked to a customer like that in any job I had, I'd be fired instantly. Customers shouldn't have to tolerate a low level of service, let alone a complete lack of respect.
This experience made such a horrible impression on me that I will never go back. Regardless of having good eats in previous experiences, I have no desire to give it another chance. This restaurant made their priorities clear by letting an awful employee work there and talk to customers like that. Shameful. I hope this person is never allowed to work with the public any longer than Zumpano's has...
Read moreNot kid friendly. Which is unfortunate because Burlington is a family friendly town. Numerous times that we have gone, my two toddlers enjoyed looking at the little gambling machines in the so-called bar area. I understand the no kids in bar rule. But no one is ever in there. It's the size of a bathroom. He said our boys were screaming and hitting the buttons which wasn't true at all. This was the owner by the way I assume. He was very rude about it and no one has ever made a big deal about it before and then told my wife "I usually let the parents do the actual parenting which was an unnecessary comment. And as we packed up he gladly showed us the door. Not good business. Especially since we barely every see anyone there. And why the bar? It's across the street from three popular bars in town. So why would anyone want to sit in such a gloom atmosphere alone? They should replace that area with maybe more tables or even a small arcade or candy vending machines/game machines. My son was very upset and cried for spaghetti because that is one of his favorite foods. Luckily I'm a cook of over 20 years and we went to Walmart and purchased the groceries to make it ourselves. And my food is actually better anyways. But yeah. The owner is an @$$** who obviously wants his business to sink. We will not be going back ever again and recommend that everyone else forgoes this...
Read moreWe arrived shortly after 4 pm, which at that time the business was just opened. Which was to my surprise that this establishment doesn't do lunch. Anyway, the interior was inviting, clean, and had nice music. We were greeted by an old seemingly intoxicated person only to whom I can only guess was the manager or owner. We were seated and we ordered our drinks and order. We got the appetizer sampler and tour of Italy (lasagna, Alfredo, and ravioli). The appetizer sampler was fried mushrooms, fried eggplant, fried cauliflower, and onion rings. The mushrooms and eggplant were both tasted old, and the eggplant was mushy. The breading on any of the above had very little texture not what I had expected. The tour of Italy was almost as equally disappointing where the ravioli was both cold, watery, and looked if it was frozen pre-made. The lasagna was dried out, very little sauce, and just tasted old. The fettuccine Alfredo however was rather delightful and we enjoyed that quite a bit. The side soup potato with ham and bacon was delicious as well, despite not being able to see or taste any bacon. The meal came to $70 with tip for two people. Overall, price to quality of food was sub-par unfortunately. If I am to return, I will get...
