Oh my Torta!!! This is our go-to local spot for outstanding Mexican food in the south metro. The flavors are terrific, the staff is friendly (and kind if you’re inquisitive about trying dishes for the first time), and the prices aren’t bad. If you’re looking to branch out from your usual grab and go (or chain sit-down) Mexican fare, in favor of the real deal, look no further! All of the dishes (many) we have ordered have been exceptional. My wife loves the shrimp tacos (small on corn tortillas - think ā€œstreet tacosā€ size), and I am totally sold on the carne asada, and al pastor (the house special). Can’t make up your mind? Order the ā€œTorta Gordaā€ (pictured) for over 2lbs of meat of nearly every variety and the amazing house flavors this spot is known for, on an absolutely massive sandwich. I’m a big guy and a big eater, and this thing demolished me - in the best way!! 🤤 Parking’s not the best, and the food won’t be ready in 2 minutes (they make it once you order it - so it’s always fresh and warm), but it’s absolutely worth it!

If you get anything here, definitely make it the tacos Al pastor. They are some of the best that I’ve had. The meat is perfectly crispy with a hint of sweetness from the pineapple. The food is great but I’m knocking this down to 4 stars for the service and price. The vibe is fast casual where you order at the counter and pick up the food when ready. The service is definitely not in line with the vibe as it took nearly 20 minutes for us to get our order. Additionally, the tacos are $3.50 each and don’t come with any extras like chips and salsa. So definitely expect to pay more than expected for a counter service Mexican joint and I recommend ordering ahead if possible.

Authentic Mexican food! Family was hungry and fast food chains were not going to cut it. Looked around the web for an authentic Mexican restaurant and found Hacienda. This is a seriously good food dive. Order your food, watch them cook it, sit and eat at your leisure. Tacos and tortas are popular. For a family of five we conservatively spent $50. Tacos are on the smaller side but they are delicious. Staff is helpful though they're predominantly Spanish speaking. Note this is not exactly a sit and get a menu type restuarant. Think cafeteria style dining. Enjoyed the food and family atmosphere.

I must preface my commentary by sharing with you that I am a, "Native Californian," born in Oceanside raised in San Diego. I am a, "Cali Girl." I adore Authentic Mexican Food. My perfect menu for the day would begin by having, Huevos Rancheros for breakfast, Chile Rellenos for lunch and Steak Fajitas for dinner. I have always found the food at the Taqueria to be fantabulous. Although, I can stand there looking at the menu options for ever thinking I should be adventurous and try something different, I always seem to order my go to favorites. I am sure everything on the menu is as equally tasty but I always order the Platter with roasted pork for dinner and a Chicken Torta to go for lunch the following day, (what did I say about breakfast, lunch and dinner). Please help me understand, because it is a question that I have always wanted to ask, why so stingy with your delicious salsa? I just ordered $25.00 worth of the most delicious Mexican food that I have yet to find and you want to charge me for requesting a couple more containers of salsa. Could be a deal breaker as I frequent your establishment on a regular basis. WHY so stingy with the the salsa? I would appreciate an answer on this forum. I am not the first person to comment on this. You need to either fix it or give me an acceptable answer...

I had to come back to reviewing this place after an unforgettable experience here. I watched as a woman wiped her nose multiple times with her hand and grabbed people's food to put on the grill items including beef and chicken, she then went in the back and came back out sniffling and itching her nose (even if she changed gloves she was doing it again) and touching finished food. I'm not sure how to get ahold of a food inspector but if I were one I'd stop here as soon as possible if I cared about peoples health. It was completely unsanitary and I tried to tell them that but no one spoke English enough to listen. I asked for multiple staff that could understand that it wasn't okay to put bodily fluids in food and everyone that was working couldn't understand what I was saying or why it was wrong. I nor any of my colleagues or family will be eating here again for the sake of not eating others fluids or basic food preparation hygiene. Me and my girlfriend both witnessed the whole thing. Totally unsafe food...
