Let me start by saying I work in luxury automotive car sales. This is actually the worst experience I have had with a dealer as a customer. I haven't bought a vehicle since 2017 so I am very eager and excited to be purchasing something new. The most offensive thing you can do to a customer is waste their time. I originally inquired on a black 2016 Audi A6, and for the miles and price I was very interested but that vehicle was in the shop which I had no issue with. I spoke with Ryan and he informed me that they had taken in another A6 in white and when I asked on the phone if it was the same year and what the miles were he said it was a 2016 like the other one with 70K something miles on it and was priced just under $22K. I was really excited because white on black is what my ideal spec for my A6 which I communicated. We ended up agreeing for me to come in on Saturday 9/23 and I arrived on time, met with him and then we went to drive the car and I hadn't driven a prestige model so I assumed the upgraded features were due to the higher trim package and it had lower miles than originally communicated. I fell in love with the car and even went through with submitting the credit application just to have the finance person come out and bring me in his office to tell me the car is too expensive to get me approved he was like " yeah they won't approve you for 35K" and you can imagine my surprise when those words came out of his mouth. I questioned the price and mentioned what had been told to me and then we had to confirm it was the right car. It was a 2020 that cost over $35,000. My budget was $25K which I communicated. The finance gentleman just kept trying to get me on other cars they have available when I was very firm that I wasn't interested in anything else. He said he thought I would like an Audi Q7 which is a large SUV with 3 rows and I am 26 with no kids. Very far off from a mid size sedan. When the sales rep popped back in all he could say was that he might have gotten his wires crossed somewhere. There were only 2 of those in their inventory, it can't be that hard to make sure you have the correct information before relaying it to a customer who is interested in buying. I do it every single day of my life. It's my job and it was his job too. The manager or the owner? Don't know didn't introduce himself came in and said he would see what he could do about my approval to get something better but at that point I was just done. So, I took unnecessary hits on my credit report for a car I can't even buy and left upset and the sales associate was NOWHERE to be found when I walked out of that office. I got a casual text message the next day assuming I was still interested in the other A6 we had originally spoken about. I will not buy a car from someone who can't be bothered to make sure he has the correct information before telling it to people. How do you "cross your wires" on $13K and 4 model years different??? Waste of time. Make sure you get some sort of information in writing before showing up here I guess. Buyer beware.
After I wrote this review, The manager or whatever he is refused to text with me about my google review and only would talk to me on the phone. This was probably because he was extremely aggressive and tried to intimidate me by repeatedly telling me he knew my boss and the owners of the place I worked at and when I called him out on it he told me to "stop saying that" and that the call was being recorded. Jokes on him, I was recording before we got on the phone because I had a bad feeling. He only knew where I worked because they took a credit app for me for a car I didn't want to buy. There was no apology at any point during the process. I just kept being told to "give them grace" and that they "make mistakes" but this was a huge mistake that impacted my credit score and wasted my time. I will not be bullied or intimidated for telling the truth about...

▪︎$300 repair- Total of $4200 in 8 different repair appointments. •$700 repair- Total of $3900 in 7 different repair appointments.
UPDATE: I appreciate your response below to my unfortunate & repair-filled Burnsville Motors car purchase problems. However, this response does nothing to rectify the financial burden-$3200 in 6 different repair appointments- put upon us from the previous car dealership owners' policies or to consider referring friends/ family to Burnsville Motors or give Burnsville Motors my future business. It is great a revamp is being done on procedures.
ORIGINAL POST: I emailed the owners, Mr.Flanagan & Mr.Gersich over 2 weeks ago & I received no response. We thought they would want to know about our customer experience & the car they sold us. We will never buy or refer family/friends to Burnsville Motors. We purchased a used 2004 Honda EX for about $3500. In the first 3 months of owning the car, we spent $1100 in car repairs in 2 separate visits. Within 9 months from date of purchase spent total of about $3200 in repairs in 6 separate repair visits!
THE REPAIRS SPEAK VOLUMES- Burnsville Motors states on their website that they perform a full inspection & repair any safety items. We feel this inspection was incredibly insufficient. Additionally, the service manager- Jim was indifferent & had a "too bad so sad" attitude towards their car they sold us that within 1st & 3rd months we had to repair the car 2 separate visits -$1100. And then he had the audacity to say each of the 4 tire rims needed work done! ▪︎DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCKING SYSTEM WAS BROKE-COULDNT OPEN DOOR. ▪︎IGNITION SYSTEM BROKE-COULDNT TURN ON CAR$$$ ▪︎KEY FOB BATTERY DEAD Then..... ▪︎RECEIVED NOTICE THE TAKATA RECALL AIRBAG WAS NOT REPLACED.- they said it was taken care of and this has been a long-standing known recall. ▪︎REPAIR ALTERNATOR- WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON ICY HIGHWAY LONG DISTANCE . HAD TO PAY FOR TOW TRUCK. ▪︎REPAIR REAR BRAKE PADS & ROTORS & SWAY BAR ▪︎BRAKE FLUID LEAKING- FRONT LEFT & RIGHT. ▪︎ REPAIR BOTH FRONT CALIPERS & REPLACE FRONT BALL JOINT ▪︎WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING- REPLACE WIPER PIVOT AND LINK ASSEMBLY- AKA- THE WHOLE WINDSHIELD WIPER MECHANISM $$$
Unfortunately, BURNSVILLE MOTORS was the dealership we went to & this was the car they sold to us. After they did a full inspection as stated on...
Read moreAfter an unfortunate auto accident that totaled my beloved, loaded SUV, I was in a bind as I was dealing with my injuries and waiting for my insurance to pay me for the total loss of my vehicle. After a month of back and forth with them, I was finally offered an acceptable amount to put towards a new vehicle. However, due to the delay between the accident and my offer, my covered rental ran out so I was in a hurry to find a replacement fast. I had narrowed it down to 3 makes and models and probably seriously looked at around 10-15 used vehicles at both large and small dealers around the Twin Cities.
Burnsville Motors was one of the last I looked at and honestly, I wish it would have been one of my first as I could have saved a lot of time. My first intro to the staff was with my salesman Jake. Jake was professional, courteous and very easy to work with. After my initial phone inquiry about the Acura RDX I was interested in, I arrived to find Jake waiting with the car out front. Jake was knowledgeable and low pressure and the car looked and drove great. Next up was the sales mgr. JT. After explaining my situation, expressing my interest in the RDX, and telling him I had a specific budget and did not have time to mess around with the whole haggling routine, he sharpened his pencil and made me a fair offer. I had one last comparable vehicle to take a look at at another dealership later that evening. JT was kind enough to hold the vehicle for 24 hours to let me compare.
After taking a look at the other vehicle, I decided that I wanted the Acura from Burnsville Motors. Should be end of story, right? Well, it took another 4 days to actually finally get my money from my insurance company during which time I was convinced I was going to lose the car. It turned out I nothing to worry about as JT was so very accommodating, giving me a few more days to sort everything out. The day of the actual purchase, finance mgr. Ryan was courteous, professional and as it was a cash deal, had my paperwork ready and me out the door within 15 minutes.
After working with dealers all over the cities to quickly try and find a replacement vehicle after my accident, I can honestly say that JT and the staff at Burnsville Motors were the best I worked with. Professional, low pressure, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating, I would (and will) confidently recommend them to anyone who is looking for a...
