Best meal of our cross country trip! The most amazing staff we encountered in 20 different states. Keeley, the hostess was understanding and so very pleasant when we asked for a different table. Jenna, was the most attentive, friendly, funny server I can recall in years. We were enjoying ourselves and the delicious wine, a Portuguese red blend so very reasonably priced below $30, when we had the joy of talking with Lisa, the owner, for a few minutes. It's obvious how much she loves what she does and the people who frequent her beautiful restaurant. The food was equally memorable. We both opted for the rib eyes, which were pure perfection. Cooked exactly to our requested temp. Hubs had the roasted red potatoes and I had the twice baked potatoes. We opted for the mushroom topper, which was generous enough for us to share and I went for the au poivre, also enough for us both. The fresh baked bread, potato leek soup, the salad with homemade roquefort and viniagrette dressings and even the included caramel sundae dessert all bear a mention. There were no leak links in this chain. Everything stood so solidly on their own but all together it created just the most amazing dinner for us. An absolute PERFECT end to our trip and a nice welcome home for us, as we returned west. Thank you ALL for the incredible memory!! We will make you a MUST STOP visit every time we are anywhere near Butte, MT.

We have family that live in Butte and took us here for our last dinner before going home. Recommend you make a reservation ahead because the restaurant is very popular. Food and service was on par. Seated right away and put us in the back area away from the front door. We ordered drinks , received some fresh bread snd proceeded to order the meal. Family ordered four filets and one chicken marsala had the sirloin with toppers . We sampled all the different versions of the steak. Super juicy with that right taste of beef with light salt. Added the asparagus and crab topper which put the flavor over the top. Chicken marsala was also fabulous. The marsala wine sauce with the right consistency that did not over power the chicken filet. What we love about this place is the complete meal aspect of the dinning experience. We all had thier beef soup with a perfect scoop of mash potatoes. Dont forget we also received salad , sides and then a desert. Shout out to that classic bake potatoe with all the fixings and thr creme bruele desert. Did sneak in a Cadillac Margarita which had that good sweet and sour taste that is usually not found when we travel. Great time in a beautiful setting with service and food to match. We will definitely be back when we visit.

This is a very unique place housed inside a turn of the century brick building. Inside you will find lots of rustic wood and copper from the areas mining. The drinks were good and the food was delicious. We started with the calamari which was lightly fried abs tossed with pepperocini's and sun dried tomatoes. Next we had the paella which was prepared well but surprisingly spicy. The t-bone steak was flavorful but slightly overcooked and topped with blue cheese. It was served on a plate that was too small to hold it and made eating it a bit of a challenge. We enjoyed the meal and all of the trimmings... you get soup and salad and ice cream all of which were delightful. The service was top notch and we will definitely be back when we travel through again.

Oh no!!!! Dear, I am so sad writing this review. So, please note, there ARE positives too, which made this difficult.

Pros:

  1. the service was kind, warm, and accommodating.
  2. the atmosphere was really neat; hip, old, upcycled antique.
  3. the starters were all AMAZING; the bread soft and flakey, the whipped butter luxurious. The Shepard's Pie soup was silky, tasty, layered with flavors and textured. We had the Garlic Ahi Tuna appetizer with Rice roll slices; the texture and flavor of the tuna was different and superb, which is saying something given we're from the West Coast and are used to FRESH seafood. The sauces were tasty and the rice roll slices were a nice different touch! Some crunch with the flavor of sesame seeds was different and welcome!
  4. the drinks were yummy and affordable! I had an Amaretto-Sour and BF had a couple different beers.

Cons:

  1. THE MAIN COURSES (read the MAIN part of the meal) 😭. The saddest part of this review was that the main courses were so sadly...well...sad. BF got the prime rib, ordered medium-rare. It barely met medium (siding on well-done). The horseradish was...questionable. It tasted like barely spicy mayonnaise.
  2. I had the Seafood Pot (Dinner Special) because I was feeling adventurous (again, knowing what fresh seafood was like and knowing this is Montana). The fish was delicious but I found several bones, the sauce was scrumptious....but the shrimp was way too overdone, as were the small clams. The mussels were ok. The Oyster was quite possibly the LARGEST oyster I've ever seen in my life (that being said, it was cooked well....but it was daunting and overwhelming in size).
  3. given the overall cost of the bill ($118 exact), these shortcomings further stung.

OTHER: I was looking for this SPECIFIC suggestion and failed to see it in other reviews, so I'll add this - it is highly advisable to make a reservation beforehand. We were lucky since we showed up 10 mins after opening, but many others weren't and we only managed to grab a spot by the bar (which is fine, but it filled up FAST too and sometimes that's not an...

The restaurant was packed when we arrived at 630 and without reservations (on a Wednesday night), we had to come back at 8pm for our group of 4 to eat.

The food - the steak was excellent and extremely reasonably priced (all under $40 per pre add ons or topping) considering the size and cut. Mixed in our group we covered the fillet, ribeye and a few more. Everything was perfectly cooked just as ordered. The cuts were all of excellent quality. It was also great that a side soup and salad were included in addition to a main side at the base plate price. The home made Mac and cheese was a $2 up charge and the black pepper creme sauce was an additional $4.50. Others added mushrooms and another blue cheese crumbles at roughly the same cost. All the sides were good to excellent but the real standout was the steak.

Service - the staff was all extremely friendly and helpful. Service itself was adequate but a bit slow and with a few mix-ups. These were handled graciously and without any issue. Checking on drinks - water and cocktails was really the only room for improvement in the overall experience.

Ambiance - When we first went, it was so full, we could barely hear each other when discussing options. When we actually ate, a bit loud but not terrible. The design in the restaurant is lots of wood and rustic aesthetic which the rustic sheet metal siding in some areas definitely contributed to the sound volume.

Overall, I can't remember the last steak I had made by someone else I enjoyed this much. 10/10 recommend on that point alone.

Parking was an issue when we went at 630 however, there was plenty of space when we...
