I ordered the Grandma pizza. I am definitely a picky pizza eater! This was a FANTASTIC Pie. Crunchy and perfect crust, tangy plum tomatoes with fresh mozzarella, & fresh basil with just the right amount of everything! The guys from the check out to the guy making this delightful pie were great. Just do it. Order it. Try it. you wont regret it. Yummy. UPDATE: Ordered a pie, the same one a few months later and it was a crust that was reheated and way too chewy. Not made fresh. It was a grandmas pie. I live too far away to have brought it back. Disappointing. I may give them one more chance but hope that NEVER happens again. It should always be made fresh and crusts should never be baked in advance and then toppings put on and then put in the oven. It will be shoe leather every time. Fingers crossed that this doesnt happen again UPDATE May 2025: So I went back and this time I watched the gentleman take a pre-made crust out of the back (the kitchen) and plop it on the counter and started to add the sauce. I told him that I would prefer it fresh and was told "this is how we do it and not to worry". I explained that I thought it would be too chewy. He said "NO, dont worry, if we make it from scratch it would take forever". He is so wrong. I would wait but in no way would it take forever in the pizza oven. Its thinner than the sicilian. The pizza was tasty but again the crust was dense and the crust on the ends gets really hard. I am a 2 person household so we reheat pizza the next day for leftovers. The pizza then has been heated, once to pre-make by them, then cooked by them and then reheated by us. So thats the dilemma as well. By the time you eat it, its as hard as a rock. I think they should prepare all their pies fresh especially for 26 bucks a pie. Over and out. ...
Read moreSimply Awful! Have been a regular patron since moving to the area in 2001. Something terrible has happened over the past few months to this place.
My son always orders his favorite sandwich... Breaded chicken CUTLET with mayonnaise and mozzarella.
Lately we've noticed that instead of a chicken cutlet, he gets what appears to be several little chicken nuggets that don't even come close to filling the roll. When asked about it, we were told that it's the same thing only he cuts the cutlet up so it will cook better. On our last visit (and I mean LAST) my son specifically requested a chicken cutlet sandwich and explained to the waitress that we've noticed the change to nuggets and would prefer a chicken cutlet instead. She assured us that she understood our dissatisfaction and would ask that it be made the way he likes it. As expected.... She and another waitress (I guess for moral support) delivered the ridiculous nugget sandwich with 3, maybe 4 little nuggets pasted to the roll with plenty of melted cheese. There was more bread and cheese than meat! My son returned it to the counter and explained again what he wanted and that the lack of chicken in the sandwich was unacceptable. The rest of the staff was very apologetic and gave my son a Sicilian slice of pizza instead, but the apparent "cook", and I use the term loosely.... Came out and swore at my son claiming he's worked there for 8 fxxxing years and that's the way they've always made that sandwich! I've never heard of any restaurant not willing to prepare your food exactly as you want, even if they charge you extra. Needless to say..... We will NEVER go there again and will be sure to advise everyone we know to do the same. I just can't believe you would treat a good, regular...
Read moreTonight we placed an order on their website at 9:34pm. It said online they were open, no cutoff time was listed and we waited for it to arrive. That never happened. Despite their emailed confirmation saying the order was being made and on its way and emailed receipt that they accepted payment, it never arrived. We called and there was no answer. No refund, no cancellation, they took our money and never delivered the order.
This disappointing experience leads me to also share what happened with our previous order when the delivery person shouted at my 11 year old autistic son about not tipping (we ordered online and tipped on their website) and outright demanded a tip from him, then finally returned to their car, leaving him crying at the front door when he didn't offer up any cash. I probably should have learned my lesson after this happened but the person I called at the store apologized so I wrote it off as a one time thing ... fool me once shame on you fool me twice, I'll just order from Vinny and Sons.
*UPDATED, the order was refunded AFTER this...
