Customer beware, Mavis doesn't honor their quotes! I was quoted a family rate quote of $150.00 + tax about a month ago by the manager Kir. The manager never charged my card for this transaction (I do not know why, as we told him to do so). My card was on file like it had been for many trips to Mavis. I brought my car there twice after that and was never told about the outstanding balance but my card on file was charged for those visits. I received a call from the new manager that we had a balance of $241.61 that needed to be paid. I went into the location to dispute the balance since I was quoted a different amount and told them all that I stated above. The new manager Kevin called his regional manager and at the end of the conversation said "Don't worry I'll make it happen." That's when Kevin got very snotty and came at me. Even the other customer at the counter was appalled at the way he spoke to me. Kevin told me, in not such nice words, that they would not honor the quote since the other manager was no longer at that location (he was transferred to a different store). Kevin also told me "That's what you get for not paying your bill ma'am (this word in particular was said super sarcastically and drawn out, as he looked me dead in the eye, like this was something I do all the time)." I asked is this really how you speak to your customers and he said yes when they deserve it. I paid the bill but I will NEVER use Mavis again and I made sure to tell Kevin this and to let his regional manager know this as well. What a terrible shame as my family member still works there. My family member will remain anonymous so as not to incur any back lash from the company. I wouldn't put it past Mavis to treat my family member unkindly as well. I don't trust a company that treats their long standing customers unkindly because they think they "deserve" it. If there was a negative star, I would have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I had an unexpected and stressful morning when we got a flat tire while driving on the highway during a snow advisory. The roads were icy, and crews were busy clearing snow, making the situation even more challenging. We were able to slowly make it to a gas station, but with 0 air pressure left in our tire, we were stuck. We called multiple towing companies in the area, but none were available to assist us.
With no other options, we carefully drove to Mavis Discount Tire in Stanhope, NJ, hoping for the bestāand thatās when we met Eli. As soon as we arrived, he immediately greeted us and said, "We'll take care of it," which was such a relief after a morning of stress and uncertainty. He wasted no time assessing our situation and explained that, unfortunately, our tire was beyond repair. However, rather than just pushing a sale, he took the time to go over our options, provided a fair price, and helped us make the best decision for our safety and budget.
Eli was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and patient. He genuinely cared about helping us get back on the road safely. Despite the busy morning at the shop, he made us feel like a priority. He offered us a great deal on replacing all four tires, and his friendly, no-pressure approach made the entire process smooth and stress-free.
What truly stood out was the exceptional customer service. In situations like these, you expect to feel frustrated and helpless, but Eli turned it into a positive experience. Instead of waiting half a day for an insurance tow, we were able to get everything resolved in just a couple of hoursāall thanks to his efficiency and willingness to help.
If you ever find yourself in need of tire service, I highly recommend coming here. Ask for Eliāheās a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is one star only because it wouldn't allow a selection of 0! I would agree with the customer below that advised "STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!" My girlfriend took the car in to have two tires replaced, they told her she needed to replace all four as otherwise it would be unbalanced and cause transmission problems. They replaced all four tires and told her she also needed to do an alignment . Then they told her three of the rims were cracked (which is interesting since there was no issue with any rims when it was brought in). Within hours of driving the car off their premises one of the tires was down to 21 psi. She took it back and they would even look at it. When I called I spoke with Mike he blamed everything on the cracked rims, I indicated as above there had been no problem prior and moreover if there was a problem with the rims especially to the point where it was losing that much air that quickly why would he ever put a new tire on it and allow a customer to drive on what would clearly be a safety issue. Let me just say his customer service was pathetic to say the least, indeed when I told him he might want to work on his customer service he said "I don't have to do anything, if you have an issue call corporate headquarters". So the answer to last question is that he didn't care about the safety of his customers or indeed his customers or their satisfaction at all. It would seem that all they care about here is making the sale and running the bill up. Mike was extremely rude, and based upon the lack of professionalism, questionable sales tactics, and lack of ethics I highly advise anyone looking for tires, to...
