Bamboleio — Restaurant in Cabo Rojo

TLTR: EXCELLENT Food, Great Service, Beautiful Seaside/Sunset View, Good Value GO, EAT, ENJOY, REPEAT (OFTEN) From the moment you spot the lively colored exterior you know this isn't just an average seaside restaurant. Our party of four was greeted immediately upon arrival. There is both indoor & outdoor seating options. We choose to sit on the outdoor patio. Even though the restaurant is located directly on RT 102, which can be a busy road, you are far removed from the traffic both physically & visually by the placement of beautiful tropic plants which just adds to the oasis atmosphere. If you choose to sit inside you will still have the wonderful view no matter where you are seated. We ordered ginger, passionfruit mojitos, and beer. I'd recommend arriving shortly before sunset so you can watch the sun go down while sipping on a mojito. Everyone was happy. While discussing our menu options & trying to decide, the owner himself came tableside to offer suggestions, recommendations and answer any questions. I can say that everything we ordered that night was absolutely delicious, the showstopper was the fried fish. If you have to pick one thing to order, get the whole fried fish. We went with the hogfish - sooooo good, good just doesn't describe it. It was crispy but not overly crunchy, fried but not at all greasy or heavy, very flavorful out being over done. Great food and great view of the ocean! Came here for our last dinner in Joyuda and were not disappointed. We ate outside to take advantage of their waterfront location. The staff here are very attentive and sooo nice. There were 5 of us but the only table outside sat 4. We wanted to eat out so we squeezed in. When the larger table freed up, they asked if we wanted to move, which we did.

We ordered the bolitas de queso which are fried cheese balls which by themselves are good but they came with a guava sauce which made it excellent. Their guava sauce was so good, I ordered their tropical mahi mahi which also came with the guava sauce. Kids had the chicken parm with sweet plantains which isn’t your typical chix parm but the kids loved it. Also ordered the shrimp mofongo and coconut breaded shrimp with guava sauce.
