I always enjoyed the great time and service at the Remos in the old location but this new experience that We had it wasn’t very pleasant. I want to start with the long wait in the line for over one hour. Of course we understand that we still dealing with the COVID-19 protocol but while we were waiting in line the person in charge of the “Security “ let some people to get in even without checking temperatures or sanitizing hand. When we asked him about he just said “oh... that’s the owner ”, or “oh that’s the owners family “etc etc and it happened so many times and when we asked for the manager he just said... “Si siguen jodiendo no los voy a dejar entrar”... The line to get in still very long and of course many people left the line because of the wait. Finally we got a table, I had to clean it and sanitize myself with my of products that I carry everywhere. The server was okay.... I can remember his name. He asked us for drinks and we didn’t have a menu or QR code to scan the menu. Because we are regular customers there we all know what’s the menu so we decided to order right away and he just told us the food is taking more than an hour. After one hour waiting in line, and then there’s no many options around at 8:30pm we decided to wait anyway. The first plate came to the table exactly one hour later at 9:30pm. Yes I said the first plate and it was incomplete. The dish has no Tostones and the server said it will take 6 more minutes. Took 10 minutes and he brought me the second plate with the missing order of tostones. My churrasco (mediun) was cooked perfectly but it was ice cold. The tostones nice and hot that it was nice. The third plate a Mofongo with shrimp came 10 minutes before 10pm. Flavor was great but the shrimp looks overcook. But we still enjoyed. We asked to speak with the manager and never showed up to our table and to other tables because people they were not very happy either. As a Chef that I am I can say that the food and presentation good. But unfortunately the service need to improve and the way that there’s no leadership, lack of following the protocols in crowds places, the staff not very friendly (only the server ) those are the main reasons why I’m giving only One star out of 5. ...
Read more[0/5 stars] I was a server for 4+ years so I sympathize with restaurants and staff but Los Remos was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. We arrived two hours before closing and got seated by the gentleman working security/the front entrance. 15+ minutes went by without a server. The gentleman at the front (he gets 5 stars) noticed and flagged a server but the server brushed him off.. I guess the server must’ve been super busy. Finally, several minutes later, we get a server but there’s no QR code for the menu at our table so the server goes to grab one. 10 minutes later, we have the QR code and order drinks. 25 minutes later, we still don’t have drinks. There were maybe 10+ tables and at least 4 servers that evening so it wasn’t super busy. Maybe the servers were also in charge of cooking and making the drinks because there were moments when not a single server was present in the dining space.. Or maybe they were out back catching the chickens to prepare meals.. I don't know because communication was lacking the entire evening.
I get that restaurants have off nights but the experience was inexcusable.. had staff or management communicated that they were backed up or experiencing difficulties, we would have understood. Ultimately, our patience wore thin and we left. Another table of 5 left not long before us for the same reasons. What’s worse, most other restaurants closed their kitchens by the time that we gave up on this place so we settled for the more consistent restaurant that is Burger King. They at least take your order and deliver the correct food. My homemade rum and coke was better than the mojito that I never got at this place.

Read moreAn interesting night. Came with high hopes and high expectations. We were disappointed, to say the least. We had just watched Pirates of the Caribbean and were ready for a night full of rum, sword fighting and parrots. Instead we got dry sandcastles, slow service and sore arms from the misplaced architecture. Being mindful of the fact we were open to trying the local cuisine, we were severely underwhelmed. The music in the background was most pleasant, however was so loud it drowned out our conversation. What a shame. Jack Sparrow could have escaped the island twice before our food came. We waited an hour for the first meal to arrive, only to have to wait another 20 minutes per additional food order. (Note: we had ordered at the same time). As our meal came to a conclusion, we reached a conclusion ourselves. We pondered long and hard over giving a tip, but decided that it was not appropriate. Upon reflection, we have constructed a different kind of tip for you. ….adding free rum shots to each order may smooth out any kinks in...
