Colton's in Cabot, AR is one of my favorite restaurants, but our visit there on 12/27/23 left alot to be desired. They initially tried to seat us right under a blaring speaker. Asked to be seated in the main area because the music wasn't as loud. They sat us in the smaller room. Music still loud, but not as blaring. Ordered our food and when it came out, the girl who brought it was extremely rude because she didn't know who ordered what and when we asked her which plate it was so we could help her figure it out, she said pretty rudely, "I don't know what you ordered" and cut her eyes at one of my sons. Waitress never came back to see if we had everything, which my son did not - he was missing a side. The family next to us looked like they were the waitress's family because she did procede to sit down with them for almost 10 minutes (we timed it). She finally asked us how everything was. Son mentioned the missing item. It took her another 5 minutes to bring it and then just put it down and went back to her family's table. As she walked back by, I stopped her and asked is that how you would generally treat people? His food was cold while waiting for his side and she just placed the side next to him without even an apology or mention of his uneaten food at that point. I was already finished with my meal. She just mumbled something and said she'd get a manager, which I hadn't even asked for. Later, the waitress brought back the tab, which the manager had taken off my son's food, but then tearfully said she was going through a lot and was trying to work to make money, etc, but she didn't mean to be rude. I explained it wasn't her I was said was rude, but I did have concerns about her ability as a waitress. I'm not much of a complianer, but I can't stand when people don't even have the ability to be kind, which would have gone far with me. Manager gave us a free appetizer for the next visit, but it will probably be awhile before I'd go back. Food was good, as usual, though. For the amount of money spent, I would expect...
Read moreCrazy strict glassware policy. Ordered a draft beer and got the 10lb glass mug. I asked politely to waiter Devin if he could put it in the water mug, which was virtually the same but plastic and not heavy. He said 👍🏻. Went and came back and said the bartender lady, Sid, said that it is against company policy to put beer in the lighter mug... I asked Devin if he's read this policy because I always ask for no 10lb glass mugs at every restaurant I've been to and never had a problem. He told me he has never read it. I went to the bartender girl a few minutes later and asked her why I can't have my beer in a lighter glass. She said it's company policy. I asked her where she read that if a customer asks for a different glass that they are not allowed to do that for the customer. She said she's never read it anywhere... she said she can get the manager. I didn't get her name. The manager said they have just always put beer in 10lb glasses I said okay I get that but I'm asking for an exception. She said no. I asked her where she read this policy and she has never read it either. I was blown away since it was such a simple request. She offered to go to the owner and I declined. My waiter Devin was new, and handled this very well so I still tipped him very well. But the bartender girl, Sid, was on a misplaced authority trip and the manager decided to back this up. CRAZY. I have ate here before and made this request and never had this issue until today. Had them dump the beer and I got a bottle of beer instead.
This all bent me out of shape because it was such a meaningless request that gave employees an opportunity for customer satisfaction and they decided that they dont do that here. I just dont get it. I was never rude or anything through the whole ordeal i stayed very kind, what in the world? What a missed opportunity for them. Devin was good and food was too. For this area the food is actually exceptional. I don't want to knock them bad for one power tripping young girl with a misplaced sense of authority and terrible customer...
Read moreNever ever go to the Cabot Colton's location. Absolutely the worst Colton's in this state, if not the United States. I live in Cabot and drive to the out skirts to eat. ANYWHERE but this Colton's Restaurant. Had an enjoyable meal one night until they washed the floors and never had the courtesy to put the "wet floor" signs up to and I ended up slipping and falling upon leaving. The manager came out and said that the "boy" who washes the floors was new and he forgot to put the signs up. Who calls their employee "BOY"? The manager, whom I won't mention, though I would love to, told me to go to the emergency room and they would take care of it. I thought how nice of them. WRONG!!! I went to the emergency room and it took 2 years to get them to pay the bill. I wasn't suing them for ANYTHING!!! I got no extra anyting but a regular checkup to make sure nothing was wrong with my knee. I had recently had surgery, by the way, on that knee. I simply wanted them to come through with their agreement and pay the bill. Nope. 2 years before they came through and paid it. My nightmare did not stop there. I actually gave them another chance, because I do love their smothered chicken, and things got worse. I went with my husband and son one afternoon for lunch and upon finishing my meal lo and behold there is a lone long black hair laid across my plate on the very bottom. How DISGUSTING !!! This place is definitely got a. I certainly say it starts with the management. They actually went so far as to comparing the hair with all their kitchen help and then came back and informed me that after their forensics tests, the hair didn't match their kitchen help. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? We had a party of four but they never even offered to take the one Hairy plate off our ticket, which happened to be the cheapest plate, also. SO., In conclusion, Colton's in Cabot wins my vote for, "THE WORST RESTAURANT...
