Coffee Cottage — Restaurant in Calabash

I visit Calabash every year or three to see my father and step-mother. My two favorite things to do in life are drink coffee and read books, but my father drinks horrible coffee and doesn't have anywhere quiet in his house for me to read. I don't know if coffee cottage is new, but in my previous visits I hadn't seen it. This time I stumbled upon it while looking for a bookstore and ended up going back every day.

The only drink I got was an Americano, but I had it four or five days in a row and it was just as good each day as it was the day before. I also tried the crumb cake and an apple fritter and both were delightful to have in my mouth. Coffee Cottage has been one of my favorite coffee shops for years. Before moving across the country, I visited two to three times a day and was always impressed by the exceptional service and quality. The entire staff is fantastic—always welcoming, friendly, and attentive.

I had a very specific drink order, and Erika consistently made it perfectly every time. She always greeted me with a warm smile, making each visit a great experience. The other baristas were equally outstanding, taking the time to ask about my day and ensuring my order was always correct.

This place is absolutely lovely. Remember being a hippie teenager who loved baking and too much coffee, dreaming of a runaway treehouse style coffee house to spend your days in?
