Mama‘s place — Restaurant in Calabash

I don't say this to be mean. I said so that they can improve and to save customers time and money. This was the worst steak and cheese I ever had in my life. It was worse than cafeteria food in high school. It looked like dog food. I didn't bother to eat it. I didn't complain. I threw it in the trash. I paid for it. But I will never be back. I hope this saves you time and trouble. Not worth it. Anyone who puts out food like this should be shut down within a year. Seriously. There was not even any grill marks on the meat like it came out of a minced meat can. There were no green peppers or onions onions. Definitely not the way Mama made it. It was ridiculous hysterically ridiculous. I am from the north and I know what a real Philly cheese steak looks like. And this was not it. The person dining with me had a chicken sandwich that was a frozen piece of garbage that came out of some processed bag. She would have been better off going to get a real piece of chicken from Chick-fil-A. Don't waste your money. I like to support local but this was a hot mess. The best steak and cheese I know of is Mammy's in Myrtle Beach...

I’ve been working in Little River at the ProSafe down the road every Sunday for the past month, and on my lunch break I’ve noticed this place pop up. Today being my last day out here for now, I decided to try it out. My only regret was not trying the place the first time I came out here! I ordered the monte cristo and it was incredible, it even came with little glass jars of raspberry preserves. The food was ready as soon as I got there, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the inside of the place looked great, clean as a whistle as well. Anyone that comes to eat here and has a problem with anything must truly be unaware of what good food is. I’ll be coming thru mamas place anytime I find myself in the Ocean Isle to Myrtle Beach stretch.

Also, IT WAS ONLY 12 BUCKS. I thought I misheard the woman when she gave me my total, it’s unheard of to find food at this quality for such a fair price (underpriced if anything!). Seriously, stop in and give this place a try as soon as you can, you will...

Recently moved to the area and had the most lovely time here with my mother! We shared the cold plate (got to choose 3 of 7 options) and went with chicken salad (opted for nut free version), mustard potato salad, and cole slaw; they were each extremely fresh and obviously homemade, my mom said it was the best slaw she'd ever had. We also split an eight-peice order of breaded hot wings (they put nine on the platter), and were given more ranch on the side than we knew what to do with because the wings were so incredibly moist and juicy we didn't even need extra sauce to suck the bones! We sat outside, but still received consistently sweet and attentive service (from what seemed to be the only server at the time). We were offered sweet tea (real brewed obvious by taste), and then were given a refill without even having to ask, and to top it off weren't charged for it! We had to tip generously of COURSE, but then they sent us home with a free cookie! We will DEFINITELY be back, and...
